This sentence, if you can call it that, “Just contradicted everything he just said,” makes ZERO god damn sense.
All the weed dudes are always crossing different varieties of weed together, trying to get “Perfect” plants. They breed for big yields, desireable “medicinal” effects, fruity flavors, etc.
Its like a legendary quest to find pure, unaltered “Landrace Strains.” 99% of the tweeds you’ve heard of, (pick any silly weed name) are, in effect Genetically Modified.
What can we do about this?

They’ve found nothing unsafe about GMO’s, but they know other methods are safer… okay. You do realize the “appropriate technologies” they are referring to are pesticides and herbicides, right? Do you want to eat genetically modified crops or crops sprayed with chemicals? Because even organic crops get sprayed. In fact it takes more “organic” chemicals per acre than conventional poisons. Don’t even start on not using any of these technologies, because it would take a mass human starvation to feed us all on “conventional” crops with no poisons on them.
Have you ever grown anything other than MJ?
In other words: The scientists don’t have enough data yet. Ask yourself: Would any farmers buy them if yields were lower? Would Monsanto bother making the crops GMO (spending billions) if plain ordinary seeds performed better?
Cross-hybridization, I believe, is what you’re talking about not genetic modification.
They have found NOTHING unsafe about GMO’s?
Making stuff people eat RoundUp ready, and spraying harmful chemicals on it is bad.
But are genetically modified plants, themselves, dangerous? I don’t want to take sides, or pick on anybody; But does messing with the genetics make vegetables dangerous?

Lots on there about glyphosate, nothing on the safety of GMO’s.

Glyphosate is a main ingredient used in plenty of GMO’s.
