Getting Off TRT Due to Hair Loss

If the follicle has merely shrunk you can get some improvement, but once the hair ceases it’s gone forever. It’s not debatable it’s already been studied and proven.

hair ceasing and not growing back is not debatable i agree HOWEVER, you cant make a determination as to that is what is happening or has happened to ME. My follicles could have just shrunk or took a vacation and WILL come back… or they may have retired for good. I just dont know. This is why i said the only way to know for sure is to get off TRT and wait several months and see if there is any improvement or regrowth.

Regarding cena… he was on high doses of TRT during his wrestling days,… not on bodybuilding level doses… hell… guys on here have probably taken as much. The reason he got off or at least decreased his dosage was due to his hair and also having hollywood accept him for more roles. I wouldnt be surprised if he is natty right now to be honest. His physique looks natural now.
I also doubt he got plugs or a transplant and im sure he is well aware of the finasteride syndrome so perhaps he stayed away from that too. He may be a case where his follicles took a break while on high doses and then once he got off or reduced down to normal levels,. his hair grew back or got fuller. Again,. we are debating here and no one knows for sure what happened but im going to be optimistic here.

I can tell you this will not happen as it doesn’t biologically work this way. But you’re right, I don’t know what your condition is. Best of luck in your hair growing endeavor.

You’re in the denial stage, but you still have hope. So have you figured out your PCT? Do it right and you can skip the dilapidated bridge back to natty.

I just dont get it. So you are going to get off trt because of hair that will probably not grow back? Hopefully you realize that you are going to feel like shit?
Maybe its just me but I dont see having hair as being worth it and I’m a guy who used to have quite the head of hair but I’m good with being bald now because I feel great. I guess its the old different strokes thing.

Whats not to get? My hair is extemely important to me…going bald or balding at this age (39) is a deal breaker for me. I always told myself that before starting trt that if i start going bald im coming off no matter what. I rather have the occasional weak boner than weak head of hair lol. Some guys dont care so much about their hair. I get that. Im the opposite. Time will tell how i will feel and if the hair will get fuller or come back. If it does great. If not then i will reassess at that point and may come back on a lower dose or different protocol…if i end up feeling completely shitty and no hair comes back then of course im gonna come back on…

I just need to wait and see…

Btw… I didnt tell anyone not even my close friends i started trt but regardless i now have the reputation of being a juice head at the gym amongst strangers and amongst friends…even tho i was taking like 80mg a week! That really upset me that i portrayed that kind of image and gained that sort of reputation…

Woe is me. Clearly you got on TRT for the juice and not for health reasons. Hair today gone tomorrow.

Untrue.
Just because the balding is a deal breaker for me doesnt mean i wasnt taking it for the health benefits. Millions of people take meds for health reasons but have to discontinue use due to side effects. That doesnt mean they werent serious or in need of it legitimately.

i have not figured out the PCT and actually need help with that.

This is where you need to start looking. Im not against you coming off. Just make good decisions going forward

i did look into it briefly on this site a few days ago and i was told that it may be better just to not do any PCT and let my body return to normal naturally which it will eventually after a couple months?
the reasoning behind this, according to the user that was helping me, was that many people feel like crap from the clomid or nolvadex and are better off just waiting it out.

Thats the info ive gotten thus far from very brief research.

I will be getting off TRT soon as well. Three reasons being:

  1. Hair loss
  2. ED getting much worse despite making sure that E2, free DHT, SHBG, Prolactin are in good range
  3. Very little improvement with fatigue

T pre-TRT was 175 - 400, extreme fatigue, partial ED.

My thread about this is here.

To those of you who are feeling better on TRT and/or don’t care about your hair or have no hair loss - good for you. No really, I’m very happy for you.

But for some of us this turned into a disaster and no brainer to quit…

I am going to take a look at your thread, thanks for sharing that.
Honestly… i hate to say this but… i have felt some peer pressure in this site to continue taking TRT when its causing me issues… some guys cant understand that drugs effect everyone differently and just cuz it worked for you doesnt mean it is working the same way or delivering the same kind of results for the other person.
Keep me updated on the progress and/or changes you experience once you get off… it will take a good month or 2 once off to see if any hair grows back… hope it does for you.

BTW, sorry but i have to ask… do u suffer from depression at all? i do know that low energy and even ED can be a side effect of depression. The testosterone didnt seem to be the cure for these issues, so it must be something else.

Good luck

Bro try finasteride before giving up on TRT, just don´t take it everyday, you could try 1 mg pill twice per week and see how you feel.
Hair is also very important to me i prefer hair over muscles any day but fin will help to keep hair while on TRT.
Just don´t take it every day

Not true that has been debunked a long time ago

If bald spot is like jhon cena´s it wonnt grow back if you don´t help it, finas and/or minox, also i don´t understand why every one on this forum is always on 200 mg of testosterone per week that is excessive IMO.
Try less dose and try microdose finasteride and or minoxidil, but it is a good idea to start new protocol once your hair is recovered
Jhon cena´s bald spot is big IMO, you did not get that in only 2 months.

Yes, I feel a bit of pressure, or lack of understanding. I addressed that a little in my thread. It’s somewhat similar to religion, like “TRT is the salvation and anyone who doesn’t agree is evil”.

I do. But I haven’t found a cure for this. I absolutely will not take psychiatric drugs though, their side effects are much more severe than hair loss from TRT.

This is how I got pfs. Don’t touch finasteride unless you’re ok with a chance of life ending as you know it.

Also microdosing finasteride is not any less safe.

no, i think you misread… i have been on trt for over 2 years… the hair started coming out soon after i started but when i came here to talk about it, i was told it was not falling out but it was shedding as more hair is coming in so it may look like i was balding but in reality i was getting more hair… this turned out to be untrue. everytime i combed or ran my hands through my hair,. like 5 to a dozen hairs would come out in my hands.

one thing i did notice,… the last month or so i started injecting into the delts… before it was only butt… once i started injecting into the delts… the hairloss became much more severe… like more hairs were coming out in my hands…

im on the fence with finasteride… its a very scary drug…
ive been off TRT for about 2 weeks now…
still i have a few hairs coming out daily… however i have noticed many little bumps on my scalp… i HOPE this is a sign of new hair growth or the follicles waking up again…

I have been on TRT for almost 4 years now, started pinning twice per week in glutes, about a year ago switch to 3 times per week also in glutes and about 2 months ago i am finally doing everyday from mon to fri, not doing it on the weekends, pinning now on my delts, haven´t noticed any additional hairloss aside from the usual 10 to 15 hairs when showering (i have a hair catcher), i have been on finasteride even before starting TRT but what i have done is to lower the dose of finasteride, first 1 mg 3 times per week after that 2 times per week and now 3 times per week but a lot less only 0.2 mg and i feel good, one thing is true and is that more frequent injections give more stable blood levels but if hair means a lot to you as it does to me, the best thing to do is to jump on Fin very low dose, like 1 mg twice per week and see how you feel on it or even less 0.5 mg twice per week
