Geopolitical Catch-all

I think it’s all just an excuse. They knew the ratings were going to be dismal.

There’s one and only one show worth watching

I don’t remember this as a sign of the coming end of the world, but…

I mean … Revelations is open to interpretation, no?

WTH is Eurovision?

Every year in May 180+ million Europeans - twice the Superbowl numbers - tune in to watch a three day music show of outrageously flamboyant gay performers and Scandinavian metal bands, interspersed by the odd singing puppet from Ireland.

It is the offspring of crossing the Masked Singer with the Gong Show, being raised by the Monty Python troupe

It’s also full of political voting so the British artists take it seriously whilst the public think it’s hilarious.

The voting is almost as petty as republicans walking out on Liz Cheney

Edit: none of that was aimed at loppar

I believe it’s the place where your soul goes to die

The blatantly political voting is part of its appeal of unparalleled trash. Will Cyprus give twelve points to Greece like it did the previous fifty two years? Can’t wait for the finals later this month and Graham Norton’s commentary (I can’t stand him otherwise but he’s perfect for Eurovision).

Gotta cleanse this thread before getting it back on topic of geopolitics.

2 minutes of intro/singing, 4 minutes of solo

I saw mention above about getting this thread back on topic.

This story just came out of Canada. It seems two microbiology scientists were turfed out of their jobs and security clearances because of some investigation that isn’t seeing the light of news, it does make sense to not splash everything in a headline

I voted for Trudeau these last two elections, but damn is this irresponsible when he takes cooperation with China down some path that gets the intelligence and police community agitated?

Not sure where the best place to put this is, but it’s interesting. If it was a warning against Trump it would have been all over the news.

What a disappointing Letter.

Right off the top, they jump into the 2020 election Lie.

And then they don’t quite explain exactly why it is that having Marxist within the Democratic Party will lead to the downfall of the Republic…yet having White Supremist, QANON adherents, conspiracy theorist and the like embracing the GTP (and the previous President in droves); while even winning election to office; will not?

Even if there are valid concerns (the health and well being of the POTUS should ALWAYS be a concern)…they exposed their partisanship right from the beginning.

Again…a very disappointing letter.

Maybe this retired collection of our best and brightest who risked everything for us know something you don’t.

Perhaps their concerns are spot on.

Perhaps they have better information sources than the people who continue to believe mainstream media in the USA.

Of course, if I believed that Trump colluded with Russia, nominated a rapist to the Supreme Court, that Covington kids mistreated a kind and wise Vietnam veteran, that Trump was allowing Russian bounties, that white supremacy pervades our society, that Michael Brown was murdered by a racist monster, that this last sham of an election was the most secure ever and that Jeffery Epstein killed himself…

If I believed the people who told us all of the things I listed above, I’d be disappointed in a letter like this too.

Bullshit, @twojarslave .

Total and utter bullshit.

I don’t believe everything from everybody just because they said it…and that includes media sources of any type…“mainstream” or not.

Also “Best and brightest” does not guarantee that one is either informed or non-partisan. A very quick search will reveal to you just as many retired military people who found the Letter as disappointing as me.

You carry on with your “truth”…and I’ll carry on with mine.

You speak of partisanship as if it inherently bad. There is no reason to be bipartisan now. Not for me. I can’t think of a single policy of Dems I support.

Maybe the collection of our best and brightest who risked everything for us, that didn’t sign onto this, know something you don’t.

But those people who signed that letter swore an oath to the Constitution, not to a party and certainly not to a man (Trump).

Excellent save. Also the Dio years were highly underrated.
