Another year and another release of Star Wars: The Original Trilogy. Except, it’s not the original trilogy. It’s the original trilogy plus all the crap George Lucas added 10 years ago and some crap he’s added just for this super duper blu-ray release. We won’t be getting the Original Trilogy in it’s classic theatrical release, but we will be getting some new gems straight from the mind of George Lucas.
I’m assuming all the previous additions to the mvies are still there
Darth Vader screams, “NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!” while killing the Emporer
Obi-Wan scares off the Sand People by screaming like Jackrabbit that just found the business end of a cattle prod
R2-D2 now has rocks to hide behind, thus evading the Sand People
Jabba gets a rather ridiculously large door for his cave palace.
EWOKS BLINK!!! Spiffy!
And that is why I am searching thru eBay for used copies of the original theatrical release of the Star Wars movies in DVD format.
And I found a pretty good article on Marcia Lucas or rather Marcia Griffen. George Luas’ ex-wife and editor for the original trilogy.
Starting next year with The Phantom Menace, he is retrofitting them all with 3D and launching them one per year into cinemas. Jar Jar in 3D, anyone?
I’ve never had much love for the prequel trilogy. I re-watched Phantom Menace not long ago. Had a hankering for some hardcore light saber on light saber action. It was not worth sitting thru the whole movie for 2-3 minutes of Darth Maul vs the Jedis. I seem to have remembered the whole fight being much cooler than it actually was.
me too, i actually saw Darth Maul new movie INSIDIOUS, his role was great. but he blew in the end just like in Star Wars.

The new Superman costume really works, and brings the attention squarely to the “S”… which is awesome. And, as I said before, the nerd in me loves the fact that they’re using the insignia of the classic Golden Age/Earth II version of the character. It gives me hope that we’ll see a more hardass, take no shit kind of Superman.
A throwback to the original. Superhero and overgrown boyscout? Sure. But in his first appearances he also slapped around a wife-beater and made life a living Hell for unethical arms dealers, corrupt lobbyists, and the owner of a mine who was perfectly fine with letting workers die so long as it didn’t affect his cash flow.
Nolan’s proven to have a clear and unique vision of Batman. He said he wouldn’t touch Superman originally, as he had no idea what to do with him. Obviously that changed, and I’m hoping for the best.
They need to cut the dude’s hair, though. He obviously worked his ass off to beef up for the role (just look at pictures of him in the Tudors… he used to be a skinny pretty-boy). Helmet head makes the body look smaller by increasing the impression of head size. It’s an old trick in illustration that was picked up in bodybuilding: Make the head look smaller to make the body look bigger.
As of next February, it looks like Netflix might be losing all Starz programming, which includes Sony and Disney movies.
This means we’re losing, among other films, The Expendables. Where’s Wolbarret? A petition must be formed.
If this part is true,
“Netflix offered over $300 million to license Starz content, but Starz didn’t merely want cash up front - it wanted the Starz Play service to be a premium Netflix tier, and have Netflix charge more than the existing $7.99 a month for access.”
That’s pretty bogus. I don’t think I would’ve upgraded my account just for special access to their stuff.

Now that’s some shit I could get behind.
This might be the closest we get, sans puny humans like ninjas and pirates. And yes, it’s a real flick.
PS:

Them’s fightin’ words, brother. Zombies are where it’s at.
Lance Henriksen should do more v/os based on that trailer.

Also, they finally picked someone who doesn’t need fake muscles to look “super” in the first place.
Is he really that big? Dude looks yoked in that picture above (by Hollywood standards, anyway).

I’m not entirely sure. I’d really like to think so, but some other pics make me wonder about how much help the suit is providing. In other shirtless pics (for The Immortals), Cavill does have straight even abs and the long biceps vein matches up pretty much exactly.
I’d rather not overthink it and just enjoy it as-is.
EDIT:
Ha, to each their own, my man. I will say this though: there’s no such thing as a hot zombie.
Fair enough. Ha. But I won’t lie, the girl from Return of the Living Dead 3 will always hold a special place in my heart.
No such thing as a hot zombie? Lies! Melinda Clarke from RotLD3 ^, Linnea Quigley from Return of the Living Dead and Anna Falchi from Cemetery Man.

Also makes it look like there’s definitely a ‘muscle suit’ at work for the Superman identity. He looks in good shape, but he has crazy shoulders in that suit. Those should stand out more than they seem to be in a white dress shirt.
Not that it matters overmuch. They at least had the guts to go for a look that fits the character, rather than another Metrosexual of Steel.

If it’s any consolation, they’ve got Chris Hemsworth in a muscle suit and he is carrying good size without it. Too early to say for sure how much of it is Cavill (Kent would be trying to conceal his build as much as possible anyway), but yeah there’s definitely a muscle suit involved to some degree…
For some reason I’ve gotten the privilege of trying the Assassins Creed Revelations multiplayer beta. Pretty similar to ACB, just new maps and maybe it looks a little better.

It warms my heart with joy that Thor and Loki can bond over Black Widow’s ass.
