Kinect is great if you have a large enough room to use it in. Still a little delayed, but the improvements will come next year (and I’m guessing they will be software based, since the device runs at 1/4 of the it’s capable resolution at the moment). Improving that should improve accuracy and allow up to 4 people to play at a time (again, you’ll need the space!).

Other than that, the fall update is supposedly going to replace certain set-top boxes that cable companies offer and you’ll be able to watch cable TV through the XBOX. That is, if MS comes to some agreement with the network(s).

That will make it THE home entertainment console to own.
Only if they get a blue ray player and include the XBox live in the TV package.
The TV package would likely be included with Xbox Live.

Also, Bluray will be obsolete in a few years, why really bother if you likely stream/download all your series and movies anyway? That is the future after all.

I dont see that unless the security is really really improved. Movie industry will not let that happen, to much pirating already goes on in the music industry.

Elaborate?

Pirating will go on regardless of whether or not you have digital media only options, or movies and series available on optical media.

Considering the PS3 and 360 are already ‘locked’ to a degree (I don’t believe you can record media that is streamed through the console and move it to another device, on a memory drive for example), you’ll have a harder time pirating streamed media that media that is available on optical formats (likely where the pirated stuff is sourced from).

Yes pirating will go on not saying they can cut that out totally. Movie industry will try to keep movies on some type of hard ware format, blue ray, memory stick etc. They make more money that way as opposed to going to a total digital streaming format. Just my opinion. I dont think they want to make it even more available for pirating by taking away that continue revenue stream of hard ware format.

if xbox really does replace cable boxes they better add a DVR function because thats how I watch almost ALL of the tv that I watch (except sports)

Does anyone know how to download from the American Android market if the app is not released outside the US and without rooting the phone?

we just ordered telus cable and it came with a free xbox that acts as a set top box. pretty sure it does act as a pvr as it has a hard drive. although i don’t use it because we are giving it to the gf’s niece.

I hope so, here is a little more information:

"Xbox Live is also getting a few more features to beef up the entertainment experience. The service is going to get YouTube, Bing for search, and voice control to control all of it.

You’ll be able to use Bing to find more content to watch, by searching the Web, YouTube, Live TV, and all the services on Xbox Live, including existing ones like Netflix and Hulu Plus. And voice control will let you speak your search item, such as the name of a movie, TV show, or game.

That means less time fiddling around with a controller. “You no longer have to navigate through the menus to find content,” said Mark Whitten, head of Xbox Live.

Whitten said Microsoft plans to increase its partnership “by a factor of 10.” And that’s just the beginning.

The subscription will be tied to the provider, but essentially what they want is for you not to be turning off your Xbox to watch TV. It will become the center of your TV experience.

Haha, that has the makings of a good comedy. I like the cast too, interesting combination.

Starring Nicky Cage. 3 guesses which movie I won’t be seeing.

I can’t wait until October:

Looks like they haven’t lost their stride as far as the animation and fight sequences are concerned. Since she is older I’m guessing the series might have a slightly more serious tone. Looks REALLY GOOD, although. This comes just in time, cuz I was starting to get tired of the repeats.

No way to do it without rooting the phone, if you want to know how to root a SGS II, here is how you do it:

Dues Ex: Human Revolution Live Action Trailer, seriously one of the best ‘hype’ pieces I’ve seen for any form of entertainment ever. If that were actually a movie trailer I’d be setting up my Friday to go see it now.
