MS13 killing that girl did happen.

Gangs like MS13, Bloods, Crips, Mexican Mafia, Nuestra Familia, The Avenues, ARE very real, some of whom have lasted for FOUR generations or more.

It’s mostly kids and chickenshits, unless you’re on the west coast. Poor, hopeless, scared abuse victims. Couldn’t hurt you if they tried… There’s a tremendous amount of sexual and physical abuse in poor minority communities.

Not to sound punkish, but there seems to be a steady interest in prison/crime on this site, as if there’s something macho or t-man about these people. I’ve dealt with these guys professionally for years on the streets and in prison. Nothing interesting or impressive. Just kids sleeping on couches or floors with nothing to do but put on an act…

It’s actually much like a cult; one predatory compelling person leading several uneducated/vulnerable people. They do his work and think they are part of something.
X2

a lot of gangs take in females for the purpose of raising a kid into a gang…

blood drops, latin princes, etc etc

Absolutely the bitches over here are considered the vessels for a “future prince, future disciple, etc.” whatever the gang calls them. The chicks in Chicago you can cross them wrong either, and just like guys they can get “jumped into a gang” aka get the shit kicked of you, or a chick can get “loved in”, where basically she gets a train run on her ass.
Mannnn, that is some straight up Jim Jones occult type of shit there. In NY before Crack hit the city big and it was MOSTLY just a click thing. People from dif areas would join up so people from other areas wouldn’t fuck with them.

If they made money on the side with stealing or weed that was extra and not all that wide spread not saying that gangs were not bad hell getting stabbed or shot did still go down. But Crack and the bigger more organized gangs from LA (that are now also spread all the way to NY and Florida) changed the game…Or should I say Crack changed the game for everyone.

I used to watch Gangland a lot, but then I kind of just stopped, for no particular reason. A week or so ago, my girlfriend and I were hanging out, and I clicked over to it. We watched the “Hell House” episode, and now she is hooked. Last night, I saw that they were running 5 episodes from 2010 this morning, so I DVRed that shit and my chick and I will likely have a little mini-marathon tonight.

I definitely think it’s pretty interesting, and I enjoy watching it from time to time. Does anybody else think the blond guy they interviewed throughout the “Devils Deciples” episode was a HUGE tool? He came off like an actor hired to play a fake former gang member. The whole time I watched, I was just thinking “Dude…stop trying so hard to sound tough”.

I will vouch that EVERY SINGLE CHICAGO GANG THEY COVERED is real and everything they described was real, why?, because i experienced it with my own eyes. If anything gangland watered it down.

The Latin Kings
Satan Disciples
Maniac Latin Disciples
Gangster Disciples
4 Corner Hustlers
Imperial Gangsters

Those gangs are bad and they are only 6 of the 300 sets in the city.

Chicagogangs.org

check that shit out.

people think they live in rough cities Chicago is really nice and really bad depending on what area, New York, California, Florida, has nothing on the shit over here.

In every major metropolitan area, there are huge entertainment and professional sectors and warzones. It goes for Chicago and all the others you mentioned.

I’d say Cali and some parts of Miami DO have shit on Chicago from what I’ve heard and read.

Granted it’s harder for those born into a gang ridden neighborhood because of intense pressure. But there are MANY opportunities to lead a normal life, ESPECIALLY for middle class white guys. We’ve had badass gangs from middle class Northeastern Queens in the 70s to 90s, and it’s not like they were formed because they had it so damn rough; they just really liked trouble!

Dude you haev no idea how hard it is, when you are born into a gang and its the only life you know, you dont know anything else, or want anything else, the neighborhood is your life, you dont even venture into other parts of the city, its easy for people to wiggle the finger, but when you are born in the thick of it, its very difficult not to get caught up, for real. I didnt.
Correct. I don’t know what it’s like, which is why I mentioned the intense pressure.

And it’s not just those areas we mention. As I said, I know quite a few guys from Queens and Bronx who came from middle class areas with PLENTY of opportunities to get in trouble, despite the fact that was far less pressure to do any of that.

I don’t wiggle a finger per se because some gang members admittedly LOVE violence - love hurting people! And there really is no further explanation in many cases (not all) other than that.

Like why do many serial killers kill? Uh, maybe they were warped out of shape growing up physically and mentally. Maybe some suffer from mental illness or brain damage. But MANY simply LOVE hurting people - no further theories or reasoning behind it.

You talking about Billy Wadd!? “Billy Wadd is a nine to fiver, Billy Wadd is an 11 hour a day dude, Billy Wadd cant stand this shit!” and go credits.

LOL, i laugh out loud every time.
haha EXACTLY…That dude is such a fucking douche. I definitely laughed at him for a while, but at a certain point, I just started to really hate him.

At the end of the episode, when he was talking about how he relocated, I vowed that I will punch him in the face if I ever meet him. I would then exclaim loudly “Billy Wadd just got knocked the fuck out!”.

Hell yeah, bro. I havent been able to catch up on the newer episdoes (due to school and other obligation) but its one those things where I can sit through an entire marathon of. I like the Biker,White Supremacist, and Asian gang episodes the best.

The only “gang” that really pisses me off is FSU. Just a bunch of hardcore music fans ganging up on people and beating them up for no good reason. Pussy shit right there.
I don’t respect ANY of the gangs featured and detest them for making some of our society quite dangerous and deadly. However, I’m with you in regards to FSU; even if I put myself in the perspective of a gang member, I can’t even see their cause! It’s not like they’re banding together in defense of their race or neighborhood or even sophisticated and organized illegal businesses.

They remind me of a bunch of depressed, disgruntled idiots who take their aggression out in music and on innocent people. They can whine that they had it rough on the mean streets of Boston, but I don’t buy it! Still not an excuse to harrass and harm people who are simply minding their business. At this point in time, I have little respect for those who whine - regardless of race or socioeconomic status - because they can just go to school for FREE, invest their time in a trade or education, and move onto a regular life.

Granted it’s harder for those born into a gang ridden neighborhood because of intense pressure. But there are MANY opportunities to lead a normal life, ESPECIALLY for middle class white guys. DMS in NYC is very similar to FSU, but around way before - like in 1982 til present. They’re kind of like a hodge podge lineup of hardcore music artists, graffiti writers, and just troublemakers who hang out.
Sometimes I wonder if you’re missing a screw loose. Did you listen to anything they said on the FSU episode, or read anything about FSU.

honestly the one that impressed me the most was the aryan brotherhood… cryptic language full support system outside of jail… very organized… strong structure of discipline etc…

has anyone noticed that once they start peddling drugs its the downfall of most gangs they cover?
AB has trouble with their outside people. Wouldn’t say full support system.

That’s why all those gangsters out of Chicago join other gangs to defend themselves against AB, because nothin has shit on them? Makes sense.
