I have recently changed from IM to SubQ and have experienced a crash as well. Doesnt really make sense that this happens but doc says it could take up to 6 weeks to stablise but should take less.
I am also debating whether to just go back to IM, but think I guess I would have to go through the crash again. Same as you I am injecting EOD (30mg per injection).
Just curiosity speaking here, but if IM was working well for you guys, why even try to switch to subQ?
Keep in mind that I’m a little “old school” when it comes to the “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” mentality.
I have another thread (Just Started TRT - High Prolactin ) prolactin level is high so doc wanted to try sub q to see if it would reduce E2 / prolactin.
I would of happily stayed on IM and taken some caber for the high prolactin.
I have heard before SQ lowering estrogen for a select few do to the slower release, it raised estrogen for me or so it felt. As for lowering prolactin, sounds like wishful thinking.
yes, now I feel like I have crashed (1 week on subQ). I want to go back to IM but I guess doc would be upset as he wanted to try SubQ for 6 week, retest and see where its all at.
Changing your dosage or going from IM to SQ will upset the stable levels of testosterone do to minor differences in how the delivery systems work.
dose is the same, have just gone from IM to SubQ. still taking hcg 100 ui daily.
When I changed from IM to SQ I really noticed the crash. It was almost as if I wasn’t even taking the Test anymore. Unfortunately the doctor changed the protocol to SQ at the same time as adding an AI and totally tanked my E2. I certainly prefer the SQ injections as I find them incredibly easy to self inject and the pain is non-existent.
In terms of the lumps at injection site, I get those as well. When I first started I was on sesame seed oil. This was the worst reaction ever. I had baseballs in every injection site come back 6 weeks later and scared me to death. We changed to Olive Oil and the injection site lumps became much much smaller/painful. This oil cost 3 times the price per month. I then asked him to prescribe me one that doesn’t have any of these special oils in it and comes from the pharmacy and he did so. That oil from the Pharmacy is little 1ML bottles and these oils do not leave any lumps on me at all. So perhaps you could look into the ones that have nothing in them like I did.
Let me add that this new Test Cypionate not suspended in some fancy oil, seemed to process through me at an accelerated rate. I felt the high for 2-3 days and now I live in hell/anxiety/loss of libido etc. the remaining 4 days. This is why I changed to multiple injections per week.
I plan to stick with SQ injection sites for a while to see if I can stabalize. One thing I have learned on this site is to pick something logical and then stick with it for 6-8 weeks, do more tests and adjust only if necessary. This is a real test of patience (TRT).
Good luck!
I had the same experience after 6 week. Sub q raised both prolactin and estrogen. So going back to IM.
