For Those Born in the 80's...

Agreed. The mere presence of people born on that day make puts the rest of this thread to shame.
LarryDavid wrote:

So my parents were probably considering making me in late '89. FWIW. But in all seriousness, if you were born in 85 or after you shouldn’t count. That’d be like if I was recounting my memories of Michael Jordan–I’d be full of shit, or worse, a Wizards fan.
The thread is called who was born in the 80’s, not who remembers the 80’s. So whether you remember the 80’s or not is irrelevant. As long as you remember most of the kickass 90’s you’re set.

1986 FTW!!!

Didn’t think I would ever change my avi, but when I saw this one… I HAD TO HAVE IT!

If you were born on or after 86, you probably don’t have much recollection of all that was cool about the '80s. So you all don’t count. Especially you, Wol. Yeah, I’m talking to you!
Say that again, Old Man? I couldn’t understand you with your false teeth. You sounded like mushmouth.

I remember crack, aids, the Just Say No campaign (thanks Nancy), DARE, SANE.

I remember watching He-Man and thinking there was nothing wrong with that show.

I remember watching Smurfs and not knowing what Communism was but knew I had to hate it.

I remember the craze over the hover boards from BTTF 2 and how “they were already in development and were going to be out for Christmas” every fuckin’ year.

I remember being scared because I lived in LA County after the Rodney King trial and thought the riots were right outside of my door but they weren’t because LA Country is fuckin’ huge and I didn’t live anywhere near the riots.

Oh, and I remember Saved By The Bell when they were in fuckin Middle School and that bitch from the Parent Trap (yea, the original) was their pricipal.
Wow. I remember everything except SANE.

Remember when there used to be a fall preview of the upcoming Saturday morning cartoons? Or at least remember when Saturday morning cartoons were a big deal?

HA! I still had my DARE shirt up until a couple years ago.

'84 right here. It’s funny how some of the shit I wore when I was a kid would be huge in the snowboarding and hipster community of today.

If you want to get drunk and nostalgic there are some good power hour videos on you tube of show intros.

1489?

You undead bastard.

87 baby here

And everyone knows that Perfect Dark was better than Golden Eye. Well, at least the multiplayer was, and that’s the real reason why everyone played either one of them.

How many people here had DARE cards?

You were cool until you skateboarded away. Take that Avril Lavigne shit elsewhere.

The AI bots in Pefect Dark were amazing.

I’m not sure if this has anything to do with it but I hate it when 25 year olds or even younger types act like they had been in WWII…age wise. It looks really ridiculous when they recount their memories of video games and such that were published 20 or fewer years ago but which they obviously only had the cognitive capacity to appreciate much later.

Another thing I hate is when people post videos of people in their own age range and call them ‘kids’ although they’re in their 20’s.
