@Brant_Drake, how challenging is it to make pho that tastes like this looks?

Not that hard. Street food comes together quickly, so getting your mise set up is 90% of the work.

The most time consuming part is making the broth, but that’s mostly hands off, and you can freeze it, so make a big batch and then you only have to do it every few months.

@SkyzykS I have been asked by my soon to be niece to be in charge of the cookie table at their wedding next Saturday. I’m so excited!!!

That is a high honor! There’s bridesmaids, groomsmen, the guy who does the marrying, and cookie table high priestess.

Better get your 20 cups of flour ready!

I just have to restock it. I’m not actually baking. But I have a feeling my 7 weeks of being 100% on is gonna hit a pretty big roadblock that night.

We call it a “refeed” and relish the opportunity to reset our slowed metabolisms.

Well what fun is that?

I suppose I could. But I’m already driving 10 hours to go to the wedding and 10 to come home. Baking cookies for an additional 4 hours seems like more than I want to do. Lol

Speaking of cookies… Pumpkin Snickerdoodles

New recipe. Almost like little cakes, tastes good but definitely not cookie-ish. May try again with another recipe.

Looks yummy. Now I want cookies. I think snicker doodles might be my favorite cookies. Never tried them with pumpkin though.

Subtle, but very important business.

If the cookie table runs dry, everybody starts drinking while they’re waiting for all the ceremonial stuff.

That extra adds up, and later on everybody is completely hammered.

This used to be the beer fridge.

Very true statement. Lol. I told a friend of mine about the cookie table and her daughter did a small version of it for her wedding. But it was done after the food as a dessert table. Somewhat disappointing.

Looking for tips on a good from scratch alfredo sauce. I made one that tasted good but was runny. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I used a Gordon Ramsey video from youtube a few times. It was so-so. :man_shrugging:t2:.

I might be missing the point of it, but I need to throw a little basil & whatnot in to give it some character.

@Brant_Drake is there a trick to grating ginger that will make me not want to hurt people?
