As far as I am concerned, bliss takes the form of a large glass of beer after a day’s hard work, maybe two glasses.

Life throws you a curveball now and then what ever you do, so you might as well find pleasure in little things.

Im all about finding pleasure in EVERY little thing. Living in the moment and such. life seems to pass too quickly otherwise.

I just mean, who here took a risk, an unconventional path in life, following an unsure passion just because they were so overwhelmingly driven that it is all they could do, and has advice or a story in retrospect.

cesliwakan, yes, it’s a no brainer. As I said before, the big problem a lot of people have is finding their bliss station. So, they resign themselves to some alienating job that offers a good pension. So, they work 40 years, hating every day of it and then at 65 they can have a nice retirement. Is that the kind of life you want?

You, my friend, are lucky. You have found your bliss station. GO FOR IT!

Thanks New2 - I actually did see that on Monday night - good stuff. : )

The reason I ask.

I am on the verge of a huge decision. A choice between;
A very comfortable salary at a great job that doesn?t require much of me. A nice living situation with a girl (an extremely beautiful fitness model) I love and have been dating 3 years. Friends and a living situation that is comfortable and great.

OR

Throw it all away for the chance to go to LA and further my music career. Live like a Spartan (cheap shady place, cheap food, minimal material possessions) and simply dedicate all of my time to becoming a professional rock singer.

One is what everyone strives for but doesn’t lend itself to a life worthy of a good story (not interesting or epic)

The other will probably be much harder and have the potential to live a life worthy of a biography.

There is the potential to just stay here and try to work both but I feel like to really do something extraordinary you must take extraordinary measures.

go out there and go kick some ass. You don’t get to live life twice. Thanks for everyone else laying things out in this topic.

I just put off full time college for a second year, in order to play hockey. Best decision I’ve made in my life was taking last year part time. I mean what would I be studying for if I went to college? Maybe kinesiology? well what’s stopping me from doing that anyways when I go to college now?

There will always be cushy buisness jobs if you’re smart and hard working. Chances to play in a band or to play junior hockey only come once in someone’s life. You know what the right decision is.

My words to live by:
“If you dig deep enough in yourself, you will know what the right decision is at least 80% of the time. If in doubt, do whatever’s harder.”

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveller, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I–
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference

So today i told my boss im quitting in the fall.He was very supportive because I’m persuing my passion (which i was shocked about)

My girlfriend and I are staying together and doing the long distance thing. I feel overwhelmingly like I am doing the right thing.

Just so happend that my financial situation just GREATLY improved as well. So I dont have to worry about being homeless in Hollywood.

things seem to be working out. ill keep you updated in case you care.

I may be looking for a personal training job in hollywood. any suggestions for gyms to check?

Oops… too late to offer advice now! :wink:

Anyway, there are a lot of different types of things to regret, but if someone has talent and interest, then I’ve always encouraged them to try for it.

Hell, it may not work out, or it may, but you won’t have to ask yourself “what if”. Just make sure you know what you are aiming for.
