Foam Rolling After Muscle Tear

This report talks about how the fascia forms in about 3 days after injury and has completely covered the wound after about 5 days. It describes a treatment that needs to be done to the fascia within 36 hours of injury that eliminates adhesions. I’m wondering if this would apply to foam rolling as well. At the 36 hour, 3 day and 5 day points, would we want to foam roll before or after to minimize adhesions? If foam rolling before these critical periods, should the pressure or duration of foam rolling be limited to some extent?

Uh… this article talks about adhesions in the peritonial cavity and how those adhesions are specific to that region. Lift more, read less.

I tore my triceps last summer and it was fully healed and back to it’s former strength after 5 weeks. After the first few days I started giving myself some gentle massage and even had one ART treatment about a week after the injury. I’d say as long as it doesn’t give you sharp pain but just mild discomfort than you should be ok.

Thanks Mytch. Anyone else?

what are you asking for? Injury or basic recovery from training. They are two different things.

Doing that sounds extremely painful lol
