Flatdanny’s TRT Log

Well that kinda sucks.

That’s insane, studies show the ranges are wrong. The UK is way behind in thyroid treatment and many doctors still believe T3 medication isn’t necessary and that only believe in T4 treatment, even when the patients claim to feel better on T3.

The evidence for a narrower thyrotropin reference range is compelling.

It has become clear that previously accepted reference ranges are no longer valid as a result of both the development of more highly sensitive TSH assays and the appreciation that reference populations previously considered normal were contaminated with individuals with various degrees of thyroid dysfunction that served to increase mean TSH levels for the group.

It really is shocking in the UK when it comes thyroid and other hormonal issues. Finding a knowledgable doctor is not at all easy. The reason that I have decided to go it alone and will do what I feel is best for my health after blood testing and research. It’s why forums like this are such a help to people like me who find it hard to get help via the normal healthcare channels. The NHS have basically decided T3 meds’ have no value and are stopping prescribing them. The main reason is because they are extreme expensive now in the UK.

I remember reading about the debacle surrounding T3 meds being unlawfully marked up by certain individuals, at the end of the day denial of TRT for men has more to do with insufficient funds. If the NHS gave every man who needed treatment for hypothyroidism and or low testosterone, funding would run dry and there would be dire consequences.

The NHS completely disregards all the patients saying they feel better on T3.

Anyway, wondering what others here think could be the reason for my increased fatigue, brain fog and cognitive decline since starting TRT? I thought when I started TRT I would have more energy and increased strength but I’ve actually been more fatigued. Tried some light gym sessions and was so tired and weak I had to stop. I was actually yawning in between sets!

I personally think it’s a mataboliser issue worsened by the addition of testosterone to my system… over the last few months I have definitely improved after a lot of rest, liquorice tea, increased salt intake and a bunch of adreanal supportive supplements daily.

I’m monitoring basil body temperatures again daily and am also considering adrenal glandulars and possibly a trial of low dose T3.
