I concur. It’s been a creeping thought in the back of my mind, but it’s certainly lingering.
Jeez, I was thinking it too but didn’t want to put it out there. But, something is odd. Especially when it always seems like there are quite a few very loyal customers, who themselves purchase quite a bit of volume. For instance, the nutrition store by my house has been OUT of all Spike drinks since last summer! Yet, almost every time I went in there, I was lucky to be able to cobble together 1 or 2 cases from the remaining flavors. But more times than I can count, I’d arrive to find ALL the spike energy drinks sold out. Yet there would still be plenty of Bucked up, C4, and all the others. SO, I know it’s NOT my imagination, or exxageration, that Biotest products SELL WELL.
I’d imagine many have done what I’ve done and told everyone they know, and so then THOSE friends/family/etc. are Biotest customers.
What I don’t quite understand is why is there such a lack of advertising for their excellent products? I know, I understand business principles and know that advertising costs can be a huge chunk of a company’s profits, but often times that huge cost is mitigated/lessened by increased sales, either by sheer volume or having a slightly higher price per unit. Again, most of us Biotest customers are quite loyal customers, and understand the need to perhaps charge a bit more but we are willing to pay for it understanding that: higher quality raw materials, costlier production methods, etc. are extremely important to produce superior supplements.
What am I missing?? Why won’t Biotest invest in more advertising? Please don’t say the always used “not advertising keeps our costs down”. While I understand that, as I stated above, advertising a truly superior product line almost always results in reaching MORE customers, driving revenues/profits. Not to mention, with as health conscious as Gen Z has turned out to be, it seems like a no brainer to advertise. Especially when advertising on social media like instagram, tik tok, or whatever the hell kids look at costs substantially less than traditional media like TV, magazines/print media, etc.
Again, what am I missing? Why the continual shortage of various Biotest products, and the increasing occurrance of these outages?
As a T-Nation member since 2000 who’s spent $100K with Biotest, the frequent supplement delays and unavailability is very disappointing. I visited the Colorado Springs HQ and it was a ghost town. A semi-truck delivery guy was there and couldn’t unload as there was nobody present at the office. Wouldn’t be surprised if ordering is moved to Amazon exclusively soon. TNation/Biotest is clearly on the decline. Sad to see as I’ve enjoyed the advice, articles nd supplements for quarter of a century.
I agree 100%. Fini bars are now out of stock too.
Yep, if you are continually running out of a certain product, why not make MORE as the demand is obviously there and it will most certainly be sold, not gather dust on a shelf? Fini bars, flameout, Spike energy drinks.
Yeah, when I mentioned the Spike energy drinks above, my supplement store said they only had ONE supplier who even carried Biotest products, and they often were out or very low on inventory.
I used to have autoship on my Biotest supplements directly from this website, but over a year ago I was told I had to order all of my supplements from Amazon. SO, I did that, and put my Flameout and Micellar Curcumin on autoship, but several times one or the other was “unavailable”.
Can someone reading this from Biotest please shed some light on what is going on? You guys constantly post things on this site, and send me emails, advertising all of your super advanced and well thought out supplements, yet then when we want to spend our money with you and purchase them, we have all these problems? What’s up?
I agree that something must be going on behind the scenes. I’ve been a loyal customer for 20 years and have never seen this many products out of stock for this long. I don’t post very often but It would be quite a shame if they are indeed going out of business. T-Nation was my first real source of training info and I’ve been here for most all the different iteration of the site. The indigo projects, live spills, the Meadows/CT forum interactions all were so great. My hope is that this is not the case and that they are revamping the store and updating certain products while gathering the raw materials to restock the existing ones. The longer time goes by though, I’m fearing the worst. An update from either @Tim_Patterson , @Chris_Shugart @Matthew_Weeldreyer would go a long way here especially for us loyal customers that have been supporting business for years on end. Hoping for the best…
Great post and I wholeheartedly agree…..for us especially long time customers and champions of the brand/materials, do we not deserve at least some honesty? Some explanation for what has been occurring? It really makes no sense. And your post actually tagged several of them, yet not a single response.
Come on guys, why can’t we at least be treated as adults and told what is going on? We’re not looking to place blame or judge, we just would like to know what has been happening with our supplement company and if we can rely on yall to keep producing things that, at least for me, are VITAL for my body’s healthy functioning, performance, and well-being.
Silly me. When I saw that a new post was made on this thread, I was expecting an explanation from those “in the know.”
Been eating 2 cans of sardines a day
Sigh….there’s always that. Butttttt, I think I might try to order some “algal oil”. It’s made from, as the name implies, algae and it’s also much higher in DHA than EPA. But the mg. amounts per serving of almost all of the brands I’ve browsed are pitifully low compared to Flameout.
Speaking of Flameout, I just received a message from my Amazon subscribe & save informing me that that product is no longer available?? Before it was just out of stock with no resolution date, but this new notification made me really alarmed. Well, alarmed and pissed as I figure it means that we might never get it back. But since nobody on here will respond to our posts asking for some explanation, I guess we are on our own to figure something out. So, back to the good ol interwebz to read and see what a viable alternative might be.
And sorry @marine77 but I think I will have to pass on the sardines. While I do like sardines, packed in mustard, those pose slight logistical problems with getting my fish oil intake in when I’m at work, or traveling, or sitting within 100 yards of my wife lol. Aren’t you worried about all the heavy metals and other toxins prevalent in species such as sardines? Yeah, I know, I am probably taking in a million toxins here and there as well, but I try to at least limit the things I DO have control over.
Not aware of any issues regarding heavy metals… I’ll look. Biotest is just way too $$$ and unreliable.
Sardines have extremely low mercury levels, averaging only 0.013 parts per million, making them one of the safest fish to consume.
Agree with both your statements regarding Biotest…..I just heard Cartman say in my head “GODDAMMIT!”
I mean we can’t even get a response as to why and I really like these guys.
Exactly!! Call me crazy, but common sense would dictate that you make an effort to address concerns such as ours so that you can calm fears, and keep your LOYAL client-base happy. But it seems like it falls on deaf ears.
The stranger, more fucked up thing is, they KEEP PUSHING all these other products on us non-stop and act like nothing is out of the ordinary! I get emails almost daily trying to get me to buy forskolin (like the big ad below these posts), or p-well, or igniter or whatever. So, it tells me they are still making products, but just not the main staples that almost everyone seems to purchase. I don’t get it. In the past when I’ve had issues, that matthew wheeldryer guy would always answer my questions and was very nice to work with. But now it’s radio silence…
Sardines aren’t a large fish…
Heavy metals aren’t prevalent in a species as some sort of natural phenomenon. It’s not like this is Colossus from X-Men. It’s just that our waterways are full of metals and toxins. Large fish like tuna, high up on the food chain, eat lots of the other fish swimming and eating these metals and develop large concentrations of them. Small fish, like sardines and anchovies, are far less worrisome
Just curious, what do you do for fish oils? I’m trying to find something, anything, that is maybe somewhat comparable to Flameout as my supply is getting smaller by the day.
Still taking 2 flameout a day currently. Haven’t run out yet.
so no plans for when you run out? I’m really looking all over to take something as my doc likes the fact that I’m on them for my heart, and I really have noticed a difference in my joints as well. Before I started taking Flameout on a regular basis, my left elbow was always aching after a hard push day/triceps workout. This even after modifying my workouts to remove the real “elbow killers” like skullcrushers, straight bar pushdowns, etc.
Chaos is the plan ![]()
