hello everyone, i wanted some opinions on a good fitness mag for my wife. she has a hard time getting excited about working out even though she is always complaining about her wt. i was looking for a mag that wasnt to hardcore for her and also included alot of healthy nutrition advice. ive tried to get her started, but as im sure some of you can relate she wont listen to me. thanks for any advice…
I don’t have an answer but I hope you find one…
Its funny how they won’t listen to a husband who knows quite a bit about the topic but will listen to fat ladies at the office who swear by some new mongolian yoga class for $20 per class…
or maybe that is just my wife…

Listening to you just gives you too much credibility for future arguments, discussions and plans.
By ignoring you, she is bypassing that respect. They all do it, you don’t even have to be married!
I’ve found that making excercise a “together” thing works well.
start small, like a walk in the park and don’t even mention it being excercise. just together time. after awhile, talk about how it is fun being active with your girl. soften her up. add some things here and there and coax her in to excercising but make it look like it’s on her terms.
if that doesn’t work, make her jealous with subtle stares and comments about in shape women.

AGREED!
If you can get her to come & start reading the articles/posting over at Muscle With Attitude, we’ll take care of making sure she has plenty of quality information and all the help she needs to reach her goals.
Women’s fitness magazines are truly a joke for the most part. I can’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve read some of the most ridiculous advice in them!
Hard for ANYONE, and especially a beginner, to sort through the BS to find useful advice…which is why we’re here! ;o)
Good luck to both of you!

Yes, the articles on the MWA site are excellent! I will admit that I subscribe to Oxygen, but most of the info is b/s, I just like the pictures for motivation.
