Weak, Irish, very weak. I realize that putting fliers under windshield wipers in the ‘mass media’ (LOL!) is mind numbing work, but your trolling skills have gone to hell.

I’d expect better from a man with an English Degree.

Shantyboy, just because you’re as common as dirt, from Mayo or Cork, don’t hold it against me because I’m from Armagh.
Guerrero wrote:
Why is being female or black a precedent for a future gay president.

I guess some people probably lump minorities and the oppressed gender into some sort of left wing constellation where gays are a little further out than anyone.

I don’t, I’m not anti-gay, I just don’t really think it is a relevant or valid group.

I’m pretty sure Clinton has made some twink suck his dick at least once, and Barack probably has been turned around a few times in college when he was searching for his ‘father figure.’

But they don’t run around going to rainbow parades and saying lipsy shit like ‘peachy.’

So I guess, you’re thinking more like…when are we going to have a man with a first man, who wants to redecorate the white house for president?

I dunno, hopefully never, I think gayness as an ‘ethnicity’ or ‘culture,’ is fucking chilidish.
I agree. Sexual orientation, how fat or in shape you are, whether you believe in God or not, etc are all largely choices people make. So lumping that in with being a woman or race is not logical. And regardless of what some feel, sexual orientation has not been shown to be genetic in nature, so get over it.

Don’t forget Anthony Hopkins’ portrayal of a cannibal.

Just goes to show how mainstream and accepted cannibalism is. Because it was portrayed in a movie and won awards. That’s how you determine if an idea or lifestyle is accepted and is mainstream. By actors in movies winning awards. Like actors portraying cannibals.
And some say the media doesn’t influence weak minds, I rest my case!

Another way to get weak minds to follow your beliefs; make up a word like “homophobic” and call everyone that who doesn’t agree with you. That way whether they are right or not it won’t matter because the label will stick. Good job Bro!

No, it was a dumb statement. Consent has nothing to do with the morality of an act. Just ask Dr. Kevorkian.

You’ve been raised in a culture of ethical relativism. A moral code is an objective standard to which one adheres. You can only choose to ignore the code. The act is still wrong even if you choose to ignore it.
It’s not a dumb statement. Consent has everything to do with the morality of an act. By your logic, then rape should be legal too.

A moral code is an objective set of rules that we all agree to ahere to. If each person had their own code, then there really be no way to interact, except through violence. If you bring in consent, you are bringing in your own opinions/feelings/thoughts into the code, which makes the code meaningless.

Suppose that raping a child is absolutely wrong (it is). Now suppose we get into some grey area about ‘consent’. To one person, the act is wrong, to another its fine. Moral relativism and chaos.

I suppose that you work somewhere. Your company should have a set of rules that everyone agrees to accept. If you bring in ‘consent’ (opinions/feelings), that company dissolves into chaos. Everyone begins following their own rules.

Denunciation is not an argument. Therefore, your words have no import. Sad, very sad indeed, Irish.

yadayada, objective standards?

Made by whom?

We now that they are objective how?

You will of course build a premise that infers the conclusion you want to draw, at least that is your typical MO, however you have to get int your head that not everybody shares your premises.

The US isn’t much of a secular state. A presidential candidate’s faith is dissected even though it goes against the principles of the Republic.

The day that’ll stop happening, there might be a remote chance of people actually voting for people on positions rather than attributes.

Great comeback Irish, I think you would have nothing to say if you weren’t insulting someone or labeling them homophonic. That just shows the weakness of your position.

What? You, the Muslim, who lives and breathes for Allah is lecturing the US about caring a little about the moral beliefs of our next president? That is rich!

You are just mad because we don’t carry it to the extremes like your extremists buddies and advocate beheading all those you don’t believe the same. LOL!

It would be interesting to see the a movie that portrays cannibals as a repressed minority struggling with their social plight. As long as the person who gets eaten consented, there’s no reason the gov’t should interfere. Homovores should be able to enjoy the same tax benefits and social privileges that we heterovores have always enjoyed.
hilarious

That thread not only shows whats wrong with internet forums in general, it shows how little the internet is worth in bringing people together, be it for a productive debate, be it for personal enlightment.

The average person (HH for example) is not interested in learning something new, or feels that compromising his stereotypes is too tiresome; perhaps he also doesn’t want to look like his flip flopping all the time, he rather wants to sound like a real alpha who’s got the plan.

Ultimately, people using the internet stick to their known peers, their old way of thinking, and when confronted, tend to use any vague piece of outdated information or link to a moronic blog or somesuch that suits their laziness of thinking.
