I was very pleased with the way he went took down Sheldon Silver and Dean Skelos. I always felt however Bharara stopped short of directly targeting Cuomo for corruption due to political reasons. With Cuomo it always seems like there is too much smoke to not be fire.
That’s fake news. Next time you watch CNN take a drink everytime they say choas and you’ll be drunk in an hour
Because they’re saying each office’s “dedicated career prosecutors” will take over the cases - those are the non-political appointee AUSAs that work for the appointed U.S. Attorney. Meaning the U.S. Attorneys will not be handling the cases going forward.
In other words, the proof you’re looking for is in the exact quote you provided me.
No one is complaining about Trump replacing the U.S. Attorneys. Every president does this at his prerogative. I haven’t said otherwise in my posts.
The issue is how he is doing it, which is not how other presidents have done it.
Bingo! That is the new trigger word to set off the people who were too busy looking for global warming to see a HYUGE change in the political climate.
Sounds like an old episode of “Get Smart”.
Bill Clinton fired them all in one day
Oh…my bad, raj and SkyzykS…
If it wasn’t for that damn Obama and Fake news…this would be the smoothest, most orderly and productive Presidential Transition I’ve ever witnessed.
It really is time to sit back and watch America become great again!
Its no more or less chaotic than when Obama appointed a tax cheat as Treasury secretary.
Or any of his many noob blunders-
So no, this isn’t earth shattering, at least on my planet. But hey, the media says its chaos.
I asked a couple of my liberal friends who I rarely if ever discuss politics with what they thought of Trumps presidency so far.
They both described it using the word choas almost immediately.
Not sure how the word chaos applies in that situation.
Dude, you’re actually going to use an article written by Jim DeMint as a news source? That’s like me using an article written by Bernie Sanders for the same purpose.
Is Fox News in on it as well?
Now ED…
C’mon’, now! What you posted HAD to be fake news!
“FOX”…that International Think Tank of Liberalism and Progressive thought…would never, EVER use the word “chaos” to describe the Administration…!
Fox news is far from perfect but that story is a reprint of the AP
My point exactly.
Are you saying that because Jim DeMint wrote that, those things didn’t happen? Take issue with the author all you want, but how about the information?
Whole point being- This is not chaos. It’s politics as usual. A little paper shuffling, some out with the old/in with the new, and the press making a few snowflakes look like a blizzard.
Fair enough. Again, those sorts of mistakes do not (IMO) comprise ‘chaos.’ On the other hand, the roll-out of the (first) immigration ban, the conspiratorial tweet-storms, the conflicting messages, the lack of coordination among various aspects of the Executive branch…When considered together, the word chaos seems to be an apt descriptor. (And lest you think that the media are being partisan, I would point out that they did not characterize the GWB transition in this manner.)
No, they didn’t, but the media in both quality and quantity has changed dramatically in 16 years. They actually use to rely on real proven journalists, not grabbing every blog post and snippet of speculation and publishing it as “news”.
What people think is not news. It is editorializing. If you can find an article with five paragraphs of actual content and maybe a sentence or two of editorializing- you have found an information rich gold mine.
I mean just look at the difference in content and quality between those articles from '10 and any given garbage available today.
I agree with this, SkyzykS…and it’s only getting worse.
Re media: Taleb had an interesting post on it today.
This is entirely normal. Every administration puts in place it’s own people. I surprised it’s news, even in the Trump era, this is perfectly mundane. Notice they are called ‘Obama era’ attorneys, meaning not held over from the Bush era.
That’s awesome…CHAOS EVERYWHERE! Except, I haven’t noticed a damn thing. Economy is rolling, work is steady, gas is cheap, food… well that’s expensive as hell.
It’s like every Rocky movie, where, some where during the fight, the announcers declare “It’s absolute pandemonium!”
I still love Rocky. I’d vote for Sly.
Except that whole travel ban thing.
Regardless of one’s stance on whether its good or bad, the fallout from that EO could be accurately described as chaotic.
