spanish 2 = muy facil. Oral exam + a 4 page double spaced paper about something relevant to Spanish/L. American culture.
Am Lit, just a couple papers left to do, yawn.
Film As Art…shit i have to analyze movie scenes…like describing lighting effects and camera widths…so bullshit. class was NOT what i was expecting (just watching movies lol)
Golden advice. I see too many first years studying with their laptops out on their desk. Pretty much just end up studying for 20 min, then youtube/facebook for 4 hours
wth is with people doing that? ill be in the tutoring center doing math homework and ill glance over at someone browsing through Myspace…like really, this is the place to do that?
im not a multi-tasker, when i study i study and thats it. although i may conveinently study before work like aw shucks look at the time g2g.
I’m in the same boat as you, OP. I am in the middle of writing a huge research report for finance class and it sucks. After I write a page, I check go on T-Nation and a different thread. It is so hard to concentrate when I have the internet right in front of me.
To bulldogtor, I like to listen to calmer music, mainly In Search of Sunrise 3, which is an hour long of trance, which keeps me from getting distracted furthermore by changing music. I tried to listen to the music that I workout with (Slayer) while studying and it did not work, I just got really angry and wanted to squat.

Honestly, WTF do they expect you to research? Algebra?
Jesus every finance class I had was about 95% math, 5% getting my ass to class. No papers. Maybe I should take back every time I called that guy a douche bag. He wasn’t so bad after all.

You… MISS school? Are you insane?
Well, I guess that might be normal if you, you know, actually enjoyed any part of it.
I definitely feel your pain, 1porsche. Exams in two weeks… handing in all those huge assignments, as is customary at the end of the semester… I’d rather be anywhere but here. Time to stock up on sleeping pills and stimulants.
Just wait till you start a career… School seems so fucking easy and fun looking back.

NO!
Stupid Spanish.
I’d actually enjoy learning another language, but not under these conditions.
I row and work…I don’t have time for college :o
And lucky me, my birthday is going to be on dead week or finals week for the rest of my college career.

I’ve had two out my last three birthday’s ruined my exams. I feel your pain.

T-Nation is my online time-waster that makes me look like I’m reading something really important when I’m supposed to be studying.
The only thing that can make me focus is everything off but the desk lamp and a cup of green tea. I have no idea why the green tea helps me focus so much… I bet it’s all in my head like a placebo but I won’t let anyone tell me that.
Any music yall prefer to listen to while studying? Or are yall quiet studiers?
Thanks y’all for reminding me of a few papers due and finals being a couple of weeks! Gonna suck but we are all doin this over the next few weeks.
Definitely listening to music when I study in the Library(obviously with my laptop and headphones). “Black Balloon” by the Goo Goo Dolls and “Wait For Sleep” by Dream Theater get a lot of play in there, but I listen to a bunch of “slower” stuff(anything from Sarah McLachlan to Brad Paisley to Coldplay for the most part)

Gotta love the old-timers giving you the “best years of your life” routine. It’s too bad that for a lot of us, that - just like the electives, timetable flexibility, and Beta-House-style parties - turned out to be a lie. Not a day goes by when I don’t kick myself for choosing Queen’s.
Oh well. Back to this research paper. For some reason, the “ignore it and it will go away” method isn’t working on it.

Mine used to always be on Spring Break, but last year it wasn’t and isn’t going to be this year.

Lol… Not so Old time, just do quite a bit more work now then I ever did.
Not sure, but if your an engineer or any truly taxing major, then yeah, I can understand.
EDIT: Or any school who hires old school prof. that actually treat it like college, not High School 2.0

Well as you said later, it depends on what you do. I worked full-time hours between my last course and my current one and I reckon working wins hands down. I cannot switch off and forget about uni during semester but after a day of work I am completely relaxed. Granted, it wasn’t a ‘real-job’ but I’ve heard similar things from my mates who are engineering graduates. Plus you actually get paid rather than accumulate debt
3days, all 3 exams. I will be ecstatic come next Wednesday when they’re finished…
Everytime I have moved up in education, I have reminised about the good ole’ days at my previous school. When I got to college, I missed easy high school. Now I’m in med school and I miss easy college. The funny part is, while I was there, none of them seemed as easy as they do now.
So, with that in mind, I can see why older folk enjoy telling us how easy school is.

Last December my birthday was on the Monday of finals week…and I had an 830am final.
But Oklahoma had that huge ice storm and everything for Monday was cancelled/postponed.

Well that goes without saying. Does anyone go to Queens and not kick themselves daily?? (Says the girl that graduated from one of Queen’s favorite schools… Do they still have the “Kill McGill” bus trip?)
