x2
I just saw it last week, and it was far from what I had expected.
Dead Poets Society
and I agree about Of Mice and Men, man I cried
Unforgiven was good
The Mighty
The Sandlot
Mystic River
Hearts in Atlantis.
Crash
Adaptation
12 monkeys with bruce willis
anyhthing that involves some sort of scitzophrenic disorder.
Fight Club - just made me feel like not giving a shit what people think about me anymore, and whatever the hell I want. Also the message on society and consumerism.
Waking Life - very trippy movie and really made me think about lucid dreaming and reality as a whole. I think everyone should see this.
Batman Begins - the idea of facing your fears, not letting your grief overhwelm you and instead using your emotion to re-forge yourself is powerful.
Yeah Fight Club was definatly one for me too, it kinda portrayed a sense of liberation from fear and acceptance which(the more i think about it) seem to be the 2 greatest inhibitors of the human experience.
The Matrix, of course is another with the whole definition of reality. Morpheus: “Real? what is real? define real. If real is what we see, smell, taste, touch and hear then real is nothing more then electrical impulses interpretted by the brain.”
V for Vendetta really made me think about government and authority figures in general, and this unconscious instinct/fear alot of people have which causes them to obey.
And of course Star Wars just has so many references that i can’t watch it enough. I makes you think about ALOT of things.
Heres a good one.
Dune
weirdest damn movie ever created.

Good post, also it makes you think about what things in life are worth fighting for. Picking and choosing your battles, and living the life you want to live. Is revenge worth it?
What the Bleep do We Know
It’s all about quantum physics very crazy stuff
Blade Runner

Agreed
Adaption was another, strange movie that shocked me during the last 30 minutes.
Primer.
Seriously, it’s the only movie that I really didn’t understand at all at first.
It definitely makes you THINK. I’m still not sure if I understand the whole thing even though I read the explanations in wikipedia. Some weird shit.
Identity
Equilibrium (knockoff on a lot of other stories, but a cool concept)
No Country for Old Men.
I’ve seen it at least a half a dozen times and get something new out of it every viewing.
Commando
