Fantasy Football

A friend of mine asked me to sit with him when he made his picks a few days ago and I talked him into picking Shonn Green and Laurent Robinson.

I feel good about the Green pick but not sure about the Robinson pick. I don’t know the rams roster very well but since he is their only good reciever I figured it was a good pick. What do you think?

I’m a FF newb and have alot to learn but it was funny to read the comments during the draft that said “holy fuck! JP(friend) did his homework this year lol”

That’s less than a handful, sack up. I’m running 10, and only 1 (the T-Nation League) has a buy in that is less than $250.

Also, Foster is a very sold RB2, there is no question there at all, same goes with Bowe. Bowe will now be running in an offense that will pass a lot, and his coach has been praising his progress and his performance thus far. I expect to see big seasons out of both Foster and Bowe.

I’ll cut that tounge out and feed it to my baby fur seal! Fear the Canadian!

I love the Sundays where I wake up, go to the gym, come home, flick on the pre pre game stuff at 11:00 am and pretty much don’t get up again unless I get something to eat, grab a beer or take a dump. Bedtime after the late Sunday night game.

Thirteen straight hours uninterupted NFL Football…Bliss lol.

Wait! I am playing a Canadian? You know this isn’t the CFL, right? Our endzones are only 10 yards, not 20. You might need to verse yourself on our rules before signing up next time. Championship!

For #2 running back who you guys start jahvid best, or felix jones? (#1 rb is MJD fwiw)

I have Best but I’m not particularly proud of my RB situation as it stands. Barber in too but I think he isn’t going to get as many touches as Jones

WTF Favre!?! 9.84pts! Fiddle sticks!

damn what a boring first game from a fantasy perspective on all 4 of my teams. Harvin didn’t do shit and hartley missed 2 field goals. Glad i sat my minn def though

I have hartley also, SOAFB!!

as far as who i would start, i would go with Best. Cowboy RB’s can’t be trusted, neither can the Lions offense but I get boners for rookies. Best is the best bet. HAR HAR HAR!

Both will probably have bad game though, TBH

Sorry to hear about that dude, maybe football can get your mind off the downer mood you’re in, even if it’s only for a little while.

This rooting for non-Steeler players is going to take some getting used to. I found myself yelling at the TV “that’s my guy!”…then he dropped the TD pass, FUUUUUUCK!

HAHA, the only CFL game I ever watched was one I went to as a kid, I can’t stand it.

I don’t like those running backs… Turner yes, Foster is a big ? as far as a number two. Also not sold on Dwayne Bowe[/quote]

Maybe you missed the part where it was a 16 team league.

I’m new at this FF, what does a 16 team leauge mean in terms of selection. I’m thinking the more teams the less good guys availible?

In my family league I out smarted myself, sat Floyd for the chargers and started Berian instead. Thought Favre had to throw to someone. fuck me got me one fucking point.

Berrian is terrible, I honestly think the Vikings would be better off with Camarillo ahead of him.

I wonder if the Vikings will put some serious thought into going after VJAX after that dismal performance from their WR corps last night. Favre wasn’t making all his throws, but it doesn’t help when your throwing to a pretty scrub group of pass catchers (excluding Shancoe, and Harvin after he gets more practice in).

I plan on dropping Berian when I get home from work I fucking changed it like 2 hours before kick-off. Went with my head and not my gut feeling. I think the Vikings better go back to the drawing board, the first have AP 13 carries, 3 rd Q 6 carries, 0 carries in the 4th.

Yes, exactly, so in a 10 team standard league, Guy #1 drafts Chris Johnson, his next pick is the 20th best player overall. In a 16 team lague, my #7 pick was Turner, who I felt slipped to me as I had him top 5, but then my next pick is 25Th overall. The number 1 pick in a 16 team would have his second pick be the #32 pick. And it compounds with each round. I think 12 teams or 14 teams is a good league size. 10 and every team is stacked, and 16 teams it’s hard to find reliable starters. 12 and 14 team leagues you can have really good teams and really bad teams, which is kinda how it’s supposed to go.

Don’t do anything too rash yet, the Saints rushed 3 and dropped 8 all night long. Basically they did the Opposite of what they did in the NFC Championship and what they said they were going to do again, which was to pummel Favre. It looked like the Vikes Gameplanned to protect the hell out of Favre which backfired because they had too much protection with only 3 guys rushing and the recievers were blanketed all night. If the Vikes stuck with rushing the hell out of AP all night long, I think they could have pulled off a win.

Peterson had 87 yards on 19 carries, 4.5 avg, he needed to get the ball 25-30 times, especially later in the game, it’s not like the vikes were down a ton. That being said, I’m glad they didn’t cause I had to go against peterson in my league. 10.5 out of him, not too bad, a good day for him would be 25+

I am not going by what happened last night V, going off the fact I just do not see Favre ever making Berian his go-to-guy. No point in keeping a guy that his best game he may get 4-5 catches.
