are you being sarcastic? I can’t tell, lol. Lately, that’s been screwing me. All the below .500 guys are low in the waiver order and picking up all these awesome guys that none of us +.500 guys have a chance at getting (DM Murray, Julio, etc). Now their roster’s are looking scarrry… :[
You JUST GOTTA have a Free Agent Acquisition Budget where everyone gets $100 to bid on free agents over the course of the season.
That whole “waiver priority based on reverse standings” to help encourage parity is about as lame/outdated as TD-only leagues…
Ha. Actually Im serious. But like you said, those under .500 are looking stout.
And I agree about the FAAB. Would make things alittle more fair and less on luck.
Side note- Is anyone interested in a dynasty league? I have never done one but thought it might be something we can think about for next year since most of the team members of the ff league will probably stay around.

x2 you can also do waiver claims that never are reversed that are basically rolling throughout the year after week 1, it seems the most fair, I do this in my big money league that I run, in another auction league we use FAAB and works smashingly,

yeah I think I’ll do that next year. I don’t know about the FAAB because half of the people in my league aren’t THAT serious, I don’t think (for shame).
and I’m totally down for a dynasty league next year.

Dynasty would be epic, we would just need to collect money for all three years up front.

Is a Dynasty League the same as a keeper league where you have the option to keep players and lose your pick in the round you had previously picked that player? Or is there more to it?

I think its the correct term for a “keeper” league. Id be willing to pay 3 years up front though. Like I said, I have never been part of one but it seems fun.

Im in. Why three years though lol? this keeper league will go forever!!! and we cant collect that much up front!!
What ive seen done in keeper leagues is if someone doesnt pay they lose their team for the upcoming season, someone else is brought in knowing that is the team they will receive. Im ok with 3 yrs tho just to make sure.
3 years is the standard minimum, that’s why I threw it out there.
Regarding players, there are a couple different styles. The most common is a set amount of keeper slots per team, usually 3-4, and you simply choose who you want to keep at the end of the year, and then have a draft the next year (obviously the kept players aren’t listed in the draft).
The best style though, and the one I would recommend would include an auction style draft. In the first year, we conduct the auction draft as normal. Then at the end of the year, each team is allowed to keep 3-4 players, but incurs the cost of what they paid for those players. For example, if you paid $10 for Gore, $20 for Peterson, and $1 for Cam Newton because you picked him off of waivers, you would simply have $31 subtracted out of your $200 auction budget for the draft that takes place at the beginning of the second year. Make sense? That way if you find studs of waivers, you save a tonnnnn of money.
I do an Auction league with 3 allotted keepers and its very similar to what WC7 has the only caveat is the players salary raises somewhat every year at a percentage of what they were purchased for. For example we use a $2000 cap I picked up MJD eons ago on the waiver wire for $50 (league min) now in order to keep him for next year he it will cost me about $200. The percentage increase IMO is necessary as eventually it will take some thought to hold on to a stud for so long and eventually give other teams a chance to have them on their team.
The three year system alleviates this as well.
I also in my snake league we have different tiers of keepers, you are allowed 1 keeper between rounds 6-9 and up to 2 between 10-18, every year you keep a player he moves up one round in the draft. You are also allowed a sleeper keeper which is a player who you picked up as a FA and was never drafted and never on any other teams roster…for example I picked up Fred Davis and will most likely use him as my sleeper keeper next year he will become next years 18th round selection (our draft is 18 rounds). If I drafted Fred Jackson in the 7th round this year and I wanted to keep him next year he would be next years 6th rnd pick and will no longer be eligible for keeper status the year after as he would be bumped up to the 5th round where you cannot keep anyone. Sleepers move up multiple rounds per year kept.

Yea Bush looked amazing. He would’ve been a first round pick for sure out of college if not for the injury. Glad he got to show off on national TV last night.

WC I think you need to make this league smaller, I would love to do the keeper. But we got dead wood man and I think only the serious should move on.

The term “dead wood” seems so harsh DJ lol. I still go over my roster every week but simple stragetys I’m still unsure. These hospital hours have really been fucking with my head dude, the last six weeks have been a disaster as far as training/diet/sleeping, worst stretch ever.
I will admit my team sucks so bad this year it’s hard to get motivated, none of my moves really paid off. I lost Britt and that was it.
I’ll chose to bow out if you guys go with a more complicated leauge. I would just be in the way of someone else who would be more commited and I respect you guys too much to do that. FWIW, sixteen teams was too many this year, then again a few of the new guys are more serious than I am so maybe it all evens out in the end.
BJB I would presume you are not included in the quitters conversation. A busy man is a busy man! I would hope we will get rid of people for not performing rather than under performing.
