Secondly, the point was not to convince anyone that the majority of the media is liberal with the statistics - the point is to show, by the journalists own admission, that there is no looming conservative bias in media, an assertion made here frequently and stupidly.
In short Lumpy, I wasn’t proving that the majority was liberal, I was proving that the majority was not conservative.

I don’t see how it’s possible to be anti-american AND a bush hater. Bush is deeply ANTI-American. His biggest achievement is to make a large number of people believe that to disagree with him is to be UNpatriotic. It seems to me that the opposite is the case. Economically the man is wrecking the country, shoring up enormous problems for the next twenty years. He has managed to turn almost the entire civilised world against him and he is obviously not very intelligent. I like Americans. I don’t like Bush.

Our economy is rolling (please see the JOBS!!! thread started by me). France/Germany/Russia are not the only members of the civilized world. In fact, France was on the take big time from Saddam. So were an unknown number of the “civilized U.N.”
It’s too bad that the people who are “angry” with the U.S. didn’t see fit to deal with the growing menace of Saddam. If their anger is what we have to endure to do what is clearly right, then so be it.

The unpatriotic comments come when certain people seem happy during times of difficulty in Iraq. This isn’t a Republican War. Please see the number of Democrats who voted to authorize the war (this includes John Kerry).

I understand what your saying…the reason comments like this upset me is becuase my dad and grandpa operate a multi million dollar construction and landscaping buisness and they both wear the same dirty ass clothes every day…when they go out to eat or soemthing both of them millionares wear dirty over-alls and flannels…they also rarely shave…when i was a kid my dad was like i want you to meet a very important man so we went over to see this guy at a local restaruant this guy looked like crap …so i said ot my dad why is he so poor if he is so important my dad looked at me and said never judge a man by how he looks…that man was the head of monarch bevarage he sold it to a company known as budweiser for more money than you can imagine he also owns his own trucking line…at that moment i learned in the real world you can never judge any one by there looks…look at louie simmons this guy is the greatest mind in strength training in a industry where most respectable coaches wear polo shirt’s and kakie shorts every time i see louie he is wearing a budweiser hat, army boots, and wall-mart cloth shorts…I understand you may not like michel moore…like i said i dont agree with everything he says…but he is a smart guy who has worked very hard to get where he is at…you may not beleive in what he does but go after his beleifs not his appereance…it would be the same thing if you didnt like loui simmons way of training and instead of talking about training you kept saying shit about his apperance and clothes…even if i disagreed with everything moore has said i would still respect him because he is doing what he beleives in…I just dont see a need for going after what a man looks like becuase we all are diffirent…if we were all the same it would get hell of boring around here…bm
All your points are well taken. But since he is working in a public type job (Louie Simmons is NOT a slob…he has plenty of muscle and “looks” like a powerlifter…not a slobbish hobo), he should at least bath and look presentable. Again, being in the medical field…maybe he has a problem with his thyroid or maybe he is mentally ill as I stated. Like it or NOT…looks DO matter…and they somewhat can reflect what is going on mentally.
The fact that the military has dress and appearance criteria for the wear of our uniform DOES convey pride and respect for ourselves and our professional appearance. These things DO matter.
If he wants to get taken more seriously OUTSIDE of his movies…which he does by the fact that he makes appearances and goes off on his own OUTSIDE of his movie commentary…he SHOULD consider other peoples perceptions…because for them…perception IS reality!

I just wanted to make a comment regarding your response to Big Martin about what appearance reflects. Just like you stated an over weight disheveled appearance can dictate a mental condition, so can an obsession with ones appearance. Many that are diagnosed with a narcissistic borderline personality disorder will go out of their way to draw attention to their appearance even going so far as to post their pictures on internet websites! Although they go out of their way to improve their external appearance internally their are in a hell we can only imagine. Just food for thought!
