External Rotation Question

“standing external rotation at 0?”

What does the zero degrees part mean??

Thanks.

Never heard the term before… perhaps you just let your arms hang at your sides and externally rotate your shoulders?? I don’t see how this would have much RC benefit (obvious exception is in a rehab setting), but it may help lube up the glenohumeral joint…

This should be referring to degrees of humeral abduction. This would mean that your humerus is pinned against your ribs, and you have your elbow at 90 degrees of flexion. Some find it helpful to roll a towel up and squeeze the towel against their ribs with the elbow during rotation.
