Many of the closet-racists in the right popular movement don’t like the immigrant policies in Norway. Even though it’s been neccessary due to the demand for labour caused by the oil economy. But the labour party is usually the most popular or second most popular politcal party in Norway. And objectively they have done a pretty good job. They handled the global financial crisis in a solid manner, Norway is usually ranked as the best country to live in by the UN (Human development index) and so on.

This is the biggest tragedy in Norway since WW2. It’s so crazy that one or maybe two men could do all this.

Seems this guy has planned this in a way where he would be able to kill as many as possible. After having detonated the bombs in the city center and unleashing total chaos, he took himself over to the island which is very small geographically. He was dressed as a cop and used a cover story about him being there to carry out a routine inspection. As the kids approached him he started shooting into the crowd. Automatic weapons at a short range and little possibility to escape other than into the water= lots of casualties. I think he used an MP5 submachine gun which has like a 700-900rpm capability. he must have had alot of ammo with him.

Agree with the poster above. I hope the rest of his life is made a living hell by inmates and prison guards.

The labour party has very liberal politics regarding immigrants and supports a multicolored/cultured socity. Something that he is strongly against.

Of course this is incredibly tragic and my heart goes out to all those directly affected. I didn’t comment earlier because I was not in a position to have an opinion and actually still am not. I know little about Norwegian cultural politics and even less about this perp so my sorrow over this evil act of senseless violence will have to do for now. If there’s one thing you can absolutely take to the bank it’s that the anti gun imbeciles OVER HERE will be all over this if they’re not already.

Eyewitness account of one of the survivors (he was shot in the back but survived) - horrific.

I was working in the information booth on the island.

We were informed by radio of a bombing in Oslo, so we gathered all 700 people on the island together to tell them.

A couple of minutes later we got a phone call to say one policeman was coming on to the shore to see us.

I went to the coffee shop to get supplies for everyone. I then heard gun shots and could see people running. As they were running, they were shot in the back.

People were falling dead right in front of me.

I ran through the campus to the tent area. I saw the gunman - two people started to talk to him and two seconds later they were both shot.

He was wearing a black uniform, with red edges. He looked liked a Nazi, with his police-like uniform and hair.

The gunman was very sure, calm and controlled. He looked like he knew what he was doing. He screamed at us that we would all die.

In the middle of the shooting I got a bullet in my back?

We all started to run down to the water, people had already undressed and started swimming. I thought I didn’t have enough time to take off my clothes, so I started swimming in the rain, in my clothes and big boots.

I went for about 150 metres but the lake is about 800 metres long. I realised I wouldn’t make it so I turned back.

I saw him standing 10 metres from me, shooting at the people who were swimming. He aimed his machine gun at me and I screamed at him, ‘No please no, don’t do it’. I don’t know if he listened to me but he spared me.

He came back an hour later. I was with other survivors and we were lying down and hiding behind the trees and rocks. We were freezing in our wet clothes.

The shooting started again and people were falling on top of me, on my legs and falling into the water - that’s when many people died. I just had to shield myself behind them, praying he wouldn’t see me. In the middle of the shooting I got a bullet in my back.

Then he came closer, I could feel his breath, I could feel his boots, I could feel the warmth of the barrel.

But I didn’t move and that’s what saved my life. I am now in hospital. It’s not the physical pain that’s the worst, it’s thinking of how many of friends have died.

In the same way islamist terrorism isnt repressentativ for normal muslims, is this
horrific act of reactionary terrorism not repressentativ for the regular conservative people.

I dont think any of the conservative regulars here are capable of any thing close to this terrible act. On a side note, many of them have showned sympathy and solidarity of wich I am very gratefull.
