I try to have something to look forward to or to work towards. Maybe an event or trip? That always jump starts me. I also go and buy new tennis shoes or new work out clothes when I am falling flat. All this usually works for me.

Boss got rid of the absolutely worst client I’ve ever dealt with today. We recover $35K for him in 10 months and he’s pissed that we don’t do the accounting work. Sorry buddy, I’ll send you the check, but I’m not the one who is supposed to do your bills.

This is mostly what I do. Try random classes, just dick around in general.

Sometimes I just go and do things I’m good at rather than stuff I need to work on.

Sleep also makes a huge difference in my motivation, maybe you actually need a break?
