Thanks for the thoughts and advice in TK 32, everyone. Hubby wants to respect Grandpa’s wishes. Brother wants to drive 15 hours from NY to TN when we get there on Wednesday. I do not want.

Sounds like an awkward situation. I hate to sound dumb but where is TN as opposed to CO? I’m not a googler.[/quote]

Um, east. Southerly. Hickerly.

I suggested if brother in law really wants to do that, perhaps they could get flights from NY or PA to TN. I know it’s selfish, but I haven’t had a vacation this year (not counting PR and the wedding in NC), and this trip to see my inlaws is the closest I’m getting to one. I don’t want to spend a third of the time I’m off work driving.

Plus the weather isn’t going to be the most acommodating

Ditto! I could go for a bacon, egg, and cheese right now…

I get it. Being stuck in a car for half the time would bum me out. Don’t forget your banjo to pass the time.

Can’t even play a banjo in a car…too big.

Poor bunny. So much humiliation and confusion.

Spending a vacation by driving most of it is hardly a vacation at all. Go enjoy yourself if possible…they ARE inlaws afterall…

How can you resist this?!
