Are we still talking animal crackers here?
Afraid to ask this questions cuz Beans may pop a vein in his forehead just thinking about it. My left arm lags behind my right enough to be irritating to me. For example, yesterday’s DB presses were at 30 lbs (up from 27.5 last week) and my right arm could explode up easily but my left didn’t explode and the fifth push of each set of 5 was a struggle. I always asked the trainer whether there was a way to get the left to catch up with the right and he said no. Thoughts?

Keep using dumbbells… Continue this practice for many moons…
Good progress

My knee-jerk reaction “Your trainer’s an idiot.”
The quick fix:
do alternate presses, starting with the weak arm.
So, Left, left, left, left, left, left (or however many reps you can get with good form) then do the same number of reps for your stronger side, (probably leaving a couple reps ‘in the tank’ on your strong side.)
“Your trainer is either a numbnuts, or is hoping to sucker more money out of you”
I am assuming deb, that you don’t have scoliosis, or a left arm that is 2" longer than the right or anything similar. ;')

Oh Ducky, I already fired him for other reasons. What you’ve described is exactly how I’ve been doing it, so that is encouraging.
