Your name is forever going to be mega newb, what happens when you’re not a mega newb any more, you can’t change your name to just newb, and what would have been after newb?
Also, phenol chloroform smells like dead cats. Just putting it out there.

Um, is it because the only dead cats you’ve smelled have been in chloroform?

USB crossover cable? Didn’t know you could get those.
What do you need it for?[/quote]
I had a similar question one time. Someone needed a fiber optic jumper. Two different ‘connector types’: LC and SC. They said they needed and SC to LC jumper, and the part number was LC-SC etc. They said “no, I needed the SC to LC, not the LC to SC” when I gave it to them. So I flipped it over and handed it to them that way.
See, this kindof applies to the whole debate/war that pch2 was trying to start about looks.
If someone in your field makes a goof on something they should be well-versed in, you’re allowed to be as critical as you’d like…but in this case (a bio gal making an IT mistake) we can be more lenient, because it’s not her forte…much like she wouldn’t want me trying to prep samples or anything icky that she must deal with if she knows what dead cats smell like.

I’ve smelled dead cats in formaldehyde before.

See, exact point I made above! I HATE biology stuff, and I mentally swapped formaldehyde for chloroform. Now, if one of your compatriots had made that error, I would hope you’d rail them out of the lab on a shame trolley…but since I’m a physics guy, it should be forgivable.
