I work really hard to not get into any catfights. (That wouldn’t happen here anyways) Sorry to bust your bubble, guys.

Had Billy Connolley on the mp3 player.
Had sinus issues, stopped being a pu**y & went for biceps & back day.
Got pinched hard enough by the belt during 90% projected max deadlifts to think I had given meself a hernia. Removed the belt.
I’ve been doing LOTS of sets of triples on the speed-deadlift-backoff sets. LOTS. Whenever I started dogging my rests between sets, I could hear this annoying Glaswegian howl in the back of my mind, calling stuff like “WAAANNNNNKER!” “COMEON YEH BIG JESSIE! PUT IT OOOP!” (so it seems like I’ve got Mr Connolley as a lifting coach now. How Beautiful Mind is that?)
So I hit a Deadlift PRx2 yesterday, and because I’ve been using the narrower diameter plates lately, (I suck off the floor, but can lockout ‘almost’ anything) I suspect that when I go back to the proper 45#s I’ll do even better. (I think my DL might be heavier than miroku’s bench now… now if he’ll post or pm me his squat #s I can work upto deadlifting that)

not really lying in wait this time, just did a quick post count and realized I got lucky…

PR on SQ is 450lb btw.

I quit using a belt for deads a while ago, for the same reason you mentioned (something felt like it went pop), and I pulled higher numbers w/out it.

good job with the smaller diameter plates! I would sometimes use 25lb plates to bring the bar lower, but the math gets hazy after a few sets of heavy DLs…

miroku - I’ll see where my deadlift is at in 6 more weeks, but I think your squat #s are safe for this go-round :')

I think if I were to list the best trainers for me, they’d succeed if they could ~irritate~ me into lifting better (Polliquin, Rollins, Rev Horton Heat) (all 3 of these guys are brilliant, but 2 of them have some vocal quality that can be teeth-gritting if used effectively.)

Nothing says anarchy in a Powerlifters gym like bunnies… and show tunes…and balloons…pink dumbell olympic lifts… nah, you’d probably get fired.
