Ever Feel Like a Thread Killer?

ugh, I’ve never worn heels…lol

I can’t wear heels and drink unless you want to see a comedy show.

Really? I had to buy a pair of flat boots due to the ankle, no heel feels a bit wrong. Unless it’s a ballet flat then it’s okay. The ballet flats with kitten heels look stupid. Kitten heels in general look stupid though. Anyway, how does one go through life never having worn heels?

wth is a kitten heel?

I mean I’ve worn sandals that were platform-y in nature, but not like stilleto heels or whatever there called.

Kitten heel

Speaking of heels, I got these amazing new black pumps. http://shop.guess.com/StyleImages/GWNAGA-BLKPA-RF.jpg

I love them, but with a 4ish inch heel, I can’t stand to wear them for more than an hour or so. Any ideas on how to walk around in high heels for an extended period of time?

If it were up to me, flip flops would be appropriate shoes for all occasions and types of weather…

Well what’s the pain from?

I like those gel instep insert things, they help with pain in the ball of your foot. They also make gel pads for the heel if that rubbing is bothering you. If its the actual walking, remember that the goal isn’t to walk on your tip toes, it’ll kill you calves. Step with the heel first and actually put weight in it (unless you’re buying shit shoes it won’t break) then roll to the toe. Also, just wear them around, you’ll get used to it.

Holy crap buckeye, that heel reminds me of the ice pic scene in Basic Instinct.

holy crap…see, I just don’t think I’d be able to pull a shoe like that off…theres never an occasion for me to wear something like that…not to mention it looks painful, and I’d be like 6’2" in those things! lol…

Oh those are some hot pumps!

You have to get used to wearing heels, then the pain goes away. There are still some that are just not comfortable.

Did you get those for a special occasion?

The pain typically comes from the ball of my foot just from standing in heels (including other, more modest heels). I already got the gel insteps which have allowed me to go longer, but not long enough. Despite being ridiculously not graceful and uncoordinated, I don’t have too much trouble walking in them, but should probably concentrate more on stepping heel first.

Perhaps I do just need to walk in them more. I see women walking around in HIGH heels and just don’t see how they could handle wearing them for the day, to the grocery store, or wherever.

Well…I first saw them and had one of those “ohmygod I have to have them” moments, which is really funny because I’m definitely not a shoe girl. I didn’t get them because they were high and expensive and I didn’t really need them. Then I realized that I need new black pumps for a wedding I’ll be in next month and saw that as the perfect excuse to buy some hot but ridiculous shoes.

I personally think they are a great spontaneous purchase.

I recently sprained my ankle and it still has not healed so I can’t wear any of my super high heels. *Sigh… I do miss them.

You will look great in those shoes at that wedding!

I did the same thing, but rather than take the sane route, I just taped up my ankle wore high boots out.

Am I supposed to understand what you are trying to say here?

Linear thinking doesn’t happen here.

See, all of you powerful ladies proved my point (even if you don’t all wear heels). Being feminine, even sometimes girly, and lifting more than most guys (not t-men, but the yahoos you work with) or being able to kick their asses are not mutually exclusive things, and in most cases make a better ‘sum’ than other combos.

Take 2-5 ‘people with estrogen’ (even the tough ones), use the word ‘shoe’ and see the result.

The number of women that suddenly appeared is kinda funny.
