Blah day for trying to run.

I got shin cramps or something, could not even finish walking the distance let alone do my sprints after. :frowning:

Maybe shoot of having x amount of days in between run days instead of x amount per week because right now I’d say having a day off in between is not enough(at least right now it isn’t).

But I think with the pace I was setting I could have had a time of about 15mins, so maybe a 10 min mile is doable by feb and if not then definitely doable by spring.

But I have changed my goal to be making running a habit as well as continuing to make/keep the gym a habit.
Ankle mobility drills will loosen your “shin muscles” lol :b

Put the tops of your toes on the ground and apply pressure, as if you were forcing the ball of your feet to your butt, like a reverse calf stretch.

Running/cardio in general will only help your gym goals. Cross training is legit, as long as you aren’t off marathon training. Oxygen utilization equals happy muscles.

Ankle mobility may always be a problem, I’ve had a few sprains in each ankle.

I’m just going to try resting an extra day before running again. Plus try doing those exercises that KD suggested.
And working on mobility would be beneficial, including stretching, massage and exercise.

A tight muscle is a tight muscle. But to each their own.

 • ran sprints/hurdles in track to stay in shape for real sports and sprint on a weekly basis, FWIW.

If you can’t sprint, don’t.

Walk/Jog. Don’t worry if you are walking more than jogging. Eventually you will get there.
I can sprint and have been doing it regularly for a while, it’s the running/jogging that’s the new thing.

Could be your shoes too?

I remember when I started to run, I would get the shin pains too. They suck. I can’t remember what exercises I did for them though.

I know I went through several styles of running shoes before I found ones that were really comfortable for me though.
Shoes help but its mostly weakness. Avid runners switching to barefoot have problems too.

Basically run more until you aren’t weak. And work on mobility/stretch.

CH, I could pm my running rehab program from the sports doctors back when I was recovering from a hamstring pull.

It was slow and methodical.

Weak tibialis anterior is common, they go away with time and stretching. Houstonguy is on the money with his advice.

Remember, sprinting is not just “fast running”, and jogging is not just “fast walking.” Each has it’s own GAIT, which affects all sorts of shit.

Sure, thanks Busy that would be helpful.

Thanks for the advice guys and dot.

Now for some herp derps?

Is it weird that Scully is still beautiful even as a herp derp?

Night TK

Good morning, TK.

Morning RB, TK

I could not exist without coffee, lol

I understand how this thread works, but posting good morning and good night every single day comes across as some people having no life. Think I would rather see Krohdaddi post his retarded stuff than seeing a good morning, goodnight post.

Well…seeing as I sit behind a desk for most of the day here in Germany, I have ample time to surf the net. The fact that some of us say “good morning” or “night” just adds to the purpose of TK. A thread about general nothings and everything. Don’t like it, stay out.

Didn’t mean to rattle your cage big boy. seems this thread is full of opinion as much as shit. So I was just giving both of mine. I don’t see the purpose of actually telling the Internet world you have no life , but be that as it may, good luck with your new addition.
