Once asleep I toss and turn and shit.
May I offer this as a solution?

lol

I have an appt with the Endo. this morning( FINALLY!!!) I hope she’s not mean.
Trying to think of any last minute questions/thoughts/concerns…

Wish me luck!

I’ve had enough of feeling like a living dead girl. Sitting, watching not participating fully in life really really sucks.

Good luck MiM. I can’t imagine having the lack of sleep you’ve been dealing with. Fingers crossed for ya

Morning TK

Good luck, MiM.

Sorry about the ad at the front.

How’s recovery going Busy? Are you able to get the rest you need?
It’s progressing.

Walking hurts less, although I still spend a lot of the time holding my hand on my abs while I walk.

Walked 2.4 miles yesterday (about 4 km) in 43 minutes.

Hockey buddies said it looks like I lost weight.

Don’t see how because my mid section is still swollen. :frowning:

Yeah your right. I’ve seen a couple aeros games. I don’t follow the sport but thats pretty neat about your friend. Have you played pro?
I started hockey as a midlife crisis.

Getting a vette would have been easier, lol

I have been fortunate enough to play with some pros in pickup games, I’m a long way away from that skill level.

Anyone else read the article by Boyce? Pretty interesting stuff. Not exactly 100% agreed on the reciprocal inhibition part, but as far as fixing stuff that may not be apparent on the first glance, he’s spot on.

Little story a lady the wife and I work out with has a history of cervical surgery and still has a bulging disk. She had done some heavy push presses and the new gym she goes to was complaining to the trainer.

The trainer had her do this stretch, and herniated that bulging disk. They had to do emergency surgery and she still has decrease strength and lack of ROM of her left arm.

Sometimes things may look good on paper and theory, but there is a reason people go to school.

I know you know what I am talking about Wiggles.

Lol, our bodies reaction to injury and stress is kind of a fine line.

Guys who go to school for years to learn the body mechanics I would trust with my kids, some fucktard who got a weekend degree I would not.

I am not saying that about the author as a disclaimer, I have no known history of reading this guy or know his background. Just some body movements need to be looked at a little more closely.

It’s not that stretching is inherently bad. It certainly has its place, believe me. However, its meant to be a part of a greater whole. Each “problem” a person may have has the potential to be infinitely more complex than it first seems. Rarely is it ever just “tight hamstrings” or “tight traps”… For instance, my traps are typically tight. If I didn’t know better, I might try this stretch to loosen my traps up.

However, the underlying cause of my tight traps is not just poor posture type stuff. I have a very mobile cervical spine. Normal sidebending is about 40-45 degrees, I have at least 60-65 depending on the day. A stretch like this plus traction could cause some serious (potentially life threatening in the C-spine) damage. I’ll stick to the chair stretch instead.

All that to say, I still send most patients home with 1-2 strengthening exercises and at least 1 stretching exercise. There’s always something at fault. Just have to approach it the right way.
