I have to write a victim impact statement. Ugh. Anyone ever written one? Can I include the stress of having to write the statement as part of the impact? :P
Nope but basically you are writing about how the incident affected your life right?
I would make a list/brainstorm or do a sort of stream of conscious type of thing then try to assemble it into a statement.
Write anything that comes to mind about the incident then try to arrange. Get emotional!

I guess that’s what I have to do then…hence why it’s turned my chest and jaw into a massive knot.
This is like one of the rare ways a victim can have an effect on what happens to the criminal/or whatever caused it. Is it apart of sentencing and parole?
Get drunk and let it out. It’s probably your last chance to say anything, if you ever had a chance to say anything at all that is.
You can do it!

What Canadian craziness are you to going on aboot?
As part of sentencing, the victim of a crime writes a victim impact statement to be read to the Judge (but defense and accused gets a copy)
The trial was on Thursday apparently but I don’t know the result. I’ve been out of town for two weeks and I didn’t know there was a court date yet but I got this letter from crown counsel in the mail when I got home last night telling me this and that I have to write this statement. I don’t even know how to find out the result.
