File first incorrectly, then amend to that refund, they give you interest, but it is a shit rate, you have to wait EVEN LONGER to get it back and you are asking for a audit.
Ultimately you should just withhold less throughout the year if you are someone that can save. MAYBE pay in a second quarter estimate if you are going to be close.
I’d rather pay 500 in april than get back 3500. But I can save so it is different than someone that is going to live paycheck to pay check drinking away their disposable income.

You so remind me of one of my closest friends, he is my CPA. College buddy who now works for the IRS in Austin he is the manager of the small business audit division.
NO way he will do anything other than file correctly. As long as I do not owe anything I really dont care to get back anything. Breaking even to me is a win/win.

for tootles…
^ Sent that to the wife, she loves cats. I hate being on the wagon.

Oprah wants to know why you’re on the wagon.
^ Doing a BF% loss contest with the wifes Crossfit gym she goes to. I go on Saturdays with her to do some cardio circuit work. Well they are having a contest with the Health and Longevity Dr giving free BF scans etc. So being the meat head lifter I am I want to beat all those fuckers.
So I have to be on the wagon for the next 6 weeks also more dieting.
