Bring the pain

It’s storming and the tv isn’t even working. Visiting my parents blows.

There’s a lot of pot in BJJ culture. I don’t understand how kids can roll high but they all say it makes things flow better.

BJJ isn’t fighting, I’ve never seen MMA on weed, but rolling yeah. Drunk rolling ends in hospital visits.

Well, there’s no hitting, and most of the strength is taken out of BJJ. Most average guys are equally strong, so it comes down to technique. If you over think the technique though, you slow down and get caught, so what it really comes down to is instinct and muscle memory.

You learn things and make them a default part of how you move and then when the time comes just tap into that, I think that’s where the weed helps some. You think less, and just flow with what your body should already do. It’s kinda why you can just look at how someone moves and see if the have any actual training. The point is to make it who you are, not something you have to step into.

PCH2, if you still feel like being mean, let er rip!

WOW, ok this explains why someone can earn a black belt in most forms of Karate in 3 years NOT so in BJJ I’ve heard guys say it can take damn near 10 years to earn one. As a kid I did some boxing up in NY, then did 2 years of Wing Chun was not very good at either, just did not have what a coach called
“Focus Fire”.

When I was hit I would lose focus get angry and just try to over power whoever I was sparing, and that does not work well with someone who is Trained and calm.

sup guys!

It’s shitty and rainy, looks like a back day, and the sled’s virgin run will have to wait, yet again.

Not much here. just waiting for the family to arrive. Bring on the noise!

Yeah, it takes about ten years for the average person to get a black belt in BJJ, but if you talk to a lot of black belts, they say they still have a lot to learn. In our academy at least, we’re told not to focus on the belt, but on what we actually know. I think a lot of MA’s are about belt chasing. I could buy a black belt on the internet right now, but it wouldn’t mean anything. It’s like saying you bench 500 but only go down an inch.

My toe is still numb, at what point do I start worrying about it? Do we really need feeling in all of our appendages? It’s not blue, so there’s still blood flow.

I witnessed the most beautiful storm last night…there were 12 rotations in the sky with soo much lightning and thnder…watched it on my roof with the tornado sirens goin off…with my lady.

=) life is good.
