MiM- What a coincidence, I’m taking a First Aid/CPR course over this summer so far it’s not overly boring, but it just started…so I’m sure the bore factor will creep in quickly
Going to MI for the wknd, later peeps.
a first aid course that lasts all summer?! eek
I just do it through the red cross…just adult cpr/aed…takes about 4 hours.

Yeah, online college courses. I need to keep using up my GI Bill, and waited too lond to pick classes this semester, so I tried to find something that I would at least have SOME interest in, so I got this class and a nutrition class going on.
Fun fun fun

High five for online classes?
It’s just like posting on T-Nation… minus boobs, cats and celtics.
I need to keep using my GI bill too!! I got til Jan of 2012.
What are you going to school for?
Yay GI Bill! I’ve got 8 months left of it, gunna suck when it’s gone because the extra money is nice.
I started with a plan of getting a BS in mechanical engineering, but after Calc 1 and both semesters of college chamistry, I changed my mind to Kinesiology. Just can’t wrap my head around all of the math stuff, and I actually enjoy the classes I’m taking now, for the most part. I’ll have two AS degrees after this semester, and then I’ll use the next two semesters knocking out as many more classes as I can.
It’s not easy with working full time, but I try to make it happen.
Do you get GI Bill because you served, or because of your husband? What branch were you in and when?
^ way to procrastinate!! ![]()
I was in the Navy. Sept '97-Jan '02
I met my hubby is boot camp!
I thought getting something in nutrition, but I don’t enjoy those kinds of sciences. Thought about taking some teaching courses…being a PE teacher would be FUN!
I have my AA in sports management. Have no idea what to do with it, just wanted something that sounded interesting and was feasible to do online.
When you enroll in classes, do you pay for them all upfront? That was always my problem. I had to get loans! ![]()
My name should be Joyce Procrastinator, seriously! Last semester I crammed 16 weeks of online HIS101 into a week and a half, and still managed a B ![]()
Navy huh? That’s cool, thanks for all the rides overseas, Marines can only swim so far (Just kidding, thanks for your service!)
Yeah, I enroll for them all and pay up front, but I am continuosly going, so I usually get a check for my benefits and use it towards registration and books. Loans suck!!
Also, I love online classes because they usually let you run at your own pace, and you can do work in your underwear if you want, but I always, ALWAYS tend to put off assignments until the day they’re due. I’m realy trying to avoid that this semester, which is why I’m online (and subsequently on this trap T-Nation) every night
^ it all makes sense now! ![]()
My career in the Navy wasn’t very glamorous. I didn’t get to travel the world like I had planned. My first duty station was for 2 years on a dry dock for submarines. I chipped barnacles and painted subs for 2 years, then they sent me to the Nimitz that was in the shipyards, where I laid tile in berthings for two years
AND THEN!! I got preggers(total surprise!!!) and they sent me to Oceana to the weather office.( I was a weather geek for awhile)
It’s my hubby who has been everywhere and got to experience cool stuff. He was on deployment in the very same spot the day before the COLE was blasted. He was also out to sea when I was 4 months along with our first when 9/11 happened. They immediately sent his ship up to NY harbor. First time a nuclear carrier had been in those waters for like 20 years!
sorry for babbling…I’m bored too.
ya, but online classes all the way. I have the same procrastinating problem… just like now, I’m supposed to be vacuuming
^^ It’s cool, babble away! Hey, your job may not have been glorious in the Navy, but you played a role. I sometimes feel like I wasn’t “Marine enough” because I wasn’t a grunt, I was an avionics tech in the airwing, but I realize that the helicopters I kept in the air got the grunts to and from the battlefield in that shitty ass desert, so it’s all good.
I was out on the Bonhomme Richard (LHD-6) when this war started, and could see the cruise missles soaring overhead towards land. That was kinda cool. Spent more of my deployments on ship, with a couple months in Iraq and a few more in Kuwait on my second deployment. little over 6 months the first time out, and 8 months the second, that’s one of the benefits of the Marine Corps, it’s pretty cyclic with 6 months out, 18 back in CONUS.
Man, I’m babbling more than YOU today!
Beans thread is good…but he’s no layne norton ;')
I’ve read through 2/3 of the thread on bb.com and kinda have the same feeling like I just ate a box of Oreos in one sitting or something.

LOL, I feel bad for shitting on a high school kid. I tried to tone it down, but I’m on fire the last couple of days.
