Saw Catching Fire last night, overall was fairly enjoyable albeit the incredibly clunky ending.
The last 15 seconds were so heavy handed I thought I was watching a parody of an action movie.

The Wolverine - hated it. The character of wolverine has so much potential to make a sweet movie and in my opinion it was squandered with this one.
The Iceman - liked it. Its supposedly based on a true story of a hitman that worked for the mob. Has Ray Liotta in it and James Franco for about 2 minutes. Winona Ryder as well.

It would have been awesome if they had took more/better cues from the Old Man Logan comic books for that movie.
Such as …I would have loved to have seen Logan no longer use his claws, as he no longer associates himself with the name Wolverine, until he confronts Yashida.

The depiction of Silver Samurai and that weird parasite in Logan (I thought his healing factor was neutralized by Viper’s poison kiss, not some reject from The Matrix) brought it down for me. There was no point in giving him back his bone claws, either. He’ll be pre-Weapon X Logan in Days of Future Past, anyway. Too much time wasted on narrative dead ends. Still better than X Men Oranges: Tangerine.

Now you mention it, they did go to town on the pyrotechnics.
No One Lives - offers a novel twist on your typical “young couple gets terrorized by bloodthirsty gang in backwater town” plot line. Do not let your curiosity get the better of you . Resist Googling the synopsis at all costs if you intend to watch it.
Hunger Games 2 - I liked it although I didn’t see the first one. The ending was the biggest blue-ball push for a 3rd movie I have ever seen.
I am not holding my breath for 2015, but I am looking forward to Prometheus 2.

It’s hard to realise until you see it pop up in the credits, but Captain America is in there as Mr. Freezy too, was kind of shocked when I found out it was him, didn’t recognise him in the slightest with that long hair/chinstrap combo.
Roybot typed: “You agree and yet you can’t resist prefacing it with your usual half-assed attempts at getting under my skin.”
Well at least I got under there half way just enough to get you to respond, and I’m flattered that you
checked all the posts to see if I posted anything prior…you didn’t have to, really.
I won’t waste any more time on this thread with you Bro, especially from a person that wastes too much
time watching one too many fucking comic book movies.

It would be something if you weren’t so woefully inept at being a pest. You try much too hard with far too little result. You really think bashing your keyboard in disgust at my liking for comic book movies is going to somehow embarrass me into watching less of them? Just motivates me to watch more…in fact, I’m going to reward your interest in my viewing habits by dedicating the next post I make on a CB movie to you.
Watched Varsity Blues last week as an ode to Paul Walker. Sports movies are awesome. Can anyone recommend some good ones that aren’t overly dark or intense i.e. Million Dollar Baby.
Took my daughter to see the Book Thief. I enjoyed it, definitely a tear jerker but heart warming at the same time. Kind of Anne Frank esque in a way. Got mediocre reviews but I enjoyed it, especially as it shows WWII and Germany’s regular citizens in a bit of a different light.

Anspaugh’s Hoosiers is one I picked up on working my way through the Art Of Manliness 100 Must See list a while back, has kind of that cliche “team on the road to a first championship win” formula, but it somehow stops that idea from getting jaded any time soon and both Hackman’s character as well as his performance as Coach are incredibly good. It’s a nice, uplifting, really well crafted sports film.

Dude aren’t you supposed to be like a 52 year old man? I’ve known literal petulant school children who were less petty lol. You’re close to the same age as my dad. I’m trying to imagine him engaging in bullshit like this, but I cannot.

Oh shiiiit! I’m excited for that. I really enjoyed Prometheus, I don’t care what anyone else says. Plus the score has the best horn solo possibly in movie history, performed with incredible virtuosity by Richard Watkins.
Prometheus sucked, I’m surprised that uninspired piece of shit
made enough money to even justify a sequel…Ridley Scott has always
been a hit or miss director for me anyway, but I’ve seen better films on teeth.
I don’t even think Karado works out lol.
Nyuk Nyuk Nyuk I don’t think Karado works out Nyuk Nyuk Nyuk!
You thought wrong.

So have I. That crud crunching grimace you pass off as charming is a veritable movie marathon. If dental health is a metaphor for cinema then your mouth is the premier of The Green Smile. They’d erect a plaque in your honor if there wasn’t the risk of an avalanche.
