Ethanol is Not an Alternative Fuel

Why does ADM still power all its vehicles with diesel instead of ethanol?

That’s not a fair question. You find a tractor that has an internal combustion engine in it, and I’ll kiss your ass. I’m not talking about the panty waisted garden tractors. Find a real work tractor that is NOT run on diesel. [/quote]

TRANSLATION: Ethanol is too expensive and less efficient than diesel.

You seconded a poor ass answer.

Both you and RJ are WAY out of your league on this top.

I think you could look a long fucking time and still not find anyone more qualified to speak about farms, and farmers’ required inputs to yield a crop.

My point is - Your argument is flawed because you are comparing apples and oranges. It’s just an idiot’s argument to say that since diesel is more efficient in running a 200hp tractor than ethanol, that the whole ethanol project should be scrapped.

If you argument was even remotely plausible - which it is not - then there would be nothing but diesel pumps at the gas stations.

I think it is utter stupidity to say that if ADM REALLY wanted to use ethanol, they would convert their thousandes of tractors to ethanol. That’s just fucked up.

You have to be the most pathologically insecure AWM I have ever encountered in my life.

To say your are a caricature of an AWM is an understatement.

Farming and diesel technology are mutually exclusive. I hope you realize that.

FYI - In europe where 60%+ of all vehicles run on diesel for a reason.

Everyone would be using ethanol if it was so great.

I have no idea what AWM is - so I would doubt very seriously that I am pathological, or insecure. It seems the one with the insecurity here would be you - but I think that is already a given, and goes without saying.

Once again - I have no freaking clue what “AWM” even stands for.

Not when you bring the two together as a reason to trash the ethanol project.

I have stated on this thread that I am against ethanol production as I think it is a waste of time given the current processes and materials being used.

My comments were specifically targeted at your idiocy in saying that ADM should use ethanol in their vehicles instead of diesel if they really believed in the viability of ethanol. I called bullshit on that argument because of painfully obvious reasons - well obvious to evryone but you.

If your argument is that we should all be driving vehicles powederd by diesel, then that’s fine. I like internal combustion engines because they are quieter, and are way less messy and smelly to fill up.

Is this your logic spelled out in 10 words?

Like I said - I am against the corp/farmer welfare state created by the ethanol program. I just think your logic in painting ADM as hypocritical is laughable.

RJ,

My point about ADM is not their hypocracy but the simple fact that we would not be talking about ethanol if it weren’t for the corporate welfare that props this product up.

At the end of they day there are no alterantive fuels if the alternative fuel uses more fossil fuel than it replaces.

Until we have cheap labor like Brazil has for havesting sugar cane we are SOL.

…why do you think we just passed the immigration refrom bill which included a guest worker program?
