Egypt Erupting

Probably because the arabs in Gaza intentionally target non-combatants such as little children and pregnant women, while Israel (for example) does its level best to only target the people who are shooting rockets or building bombs. And, generally, when non-combatants are killed, it’s because arab terrorists hide in populated areas or do stunts like send little children out in the middle of running gun battles, knowing the Israelis will cease fire to protect innocent life.

And further, the arabs in Gaza can have their own country, if they want it.

They merely have to let Jewish Israelis have their own country, too, instead of demanding all the Jews die.

The whole demand-for-genocide weakens your case as an oppressed person.

Sorry, but it’s not as clear cut as you make it out to be: Jews good, Arabs bad.

From what I’ve read, the reason why Arafat initially declined that “great” offer of land from Israel (I think it was Camp David? I know it was during Clinton’s time) was due to a provision the offer had for the “natural growth” of settlements, meaning unfettered expansion, which is what the Palestinians do NOT want. They want NO settlements and even for the people there to simply move out of that area.

I don’t see why that should be so hard.

“But why should the settlers give up their homes? Why should they be asked to leave?”

They can find homes elsewhere. They’ll get over it. I didn’t say it’d be easy, but it’s not impossible. People move to different homes all the time. That shouldn’t be the reason why settlers stay and/or settlements expand.

Seriously, each side get their own land and put a buffer zone. Stop whining (both sides). I’m not a supporter of EITHER side, but I’m saying that neither side wants it bad enough.

This isn’t about “poor Jews!” or “poor oppressed Palestinians!” Both sides have blood on their hands. Stop acting like it’s anything other than that.

And trust me, plenty of Jews in America feel the same way. I have a friend who was in the IDF and left because he hated the direction of Israeli politics, said they’re becoming super right-wing, religious radicals. He said it’s absurd there and his parents and many people in the community here feel the same. They just want Palestinians to have their own land and govern their own people. Make it simple: two separate countries + buffer zone.

Go ahead, call me an anti-Semite. That seems to be the the default response to words similar to the above.

Don’t know how a thread on Egypt took this turn, but back to Egypt.

It’s sad that the $1.3 billion in annual aid is only so Egypt can buy from American defense contractors. I believe Eisenhower called it, from over 50 years ago: “military industrial complex.”

Good call, Ike.

I seriously hope the Muslim Brotherhood doesn’t get any spots in the cabinet, let alone get in power, and that Mubarak is assassinated. Old school style.

El Baradei should be interim leader, with a spot in the next elections. Thoughts on this?

I guess the Austrian offspring doesn’t fall far from the gas chamber door…

I’d like to see Orion and / or Dustin admit that the Arabs are, at the very least, as bad as the Israelis. THAT would be progress.[/quote]

Israeli soldiers, Arab propaganda shills.

Strong lol starts at around 2.00

I don’t think anyone believes all acts of Israel are good or even justified. They certainly cross the line and have their share of hardliners and out right psychotics but the fact remains that if they lay down their arms they will be wiped out. If the Arabs lay down their arms there will be peace.

Trying to draw a moral equivalency between the two is intellectually dishonest.

Where is the Arab worlds Nelson Mandela? Likely killed by another Muslim.

Sure, if you just roll over and spread em there is peace.

Somehow Arabs are not very good at that, it just does not work that way for people who have very little to lose.

Looks like Jewbacca’s comments triggered a one-man smear campaign in here.
Wonder if this thread will return back to a civil discussion?

You are thinking about him calling me a Nazi, right?

Because I see no other smear campaign, you could not possibly mean the organizations I listed that he called “Arab propaganda sources”?

Roll over and spread them? Give me a break. Arab-Israelis are better off than Arabs anywhere else in the Muslim world. You are clearly not capable of honest discussion on this subject.

The Arabs living in Israel?

Maybe, if you except the ones living, in Kuwait, Quatar, UAE…

The ones living in Gaza?

You are kidding, right?

And when you state that they will “live in peace” you are are saying that religious hardliners will settle every square inch of the “promised land”, right?

If we use Gdp per capita, the following do better than Gaza, without the constant bullyling and surveilance of course:

1 3 Qatar 68,871
2 8 United Arab Emirates 46,856
3 24 Kuwait 31,482
4 33 Bahrain 19,455
5 36 Oman 18,013
6 41 Saudi Arabia 14,486
7 53 Libya 9,529
8 58 Lebanon 8,706
9 91 Algeria 4,026
10 95 Tunisia 3,851
11 96 Jordan 3,828
12 106 Morocco 2,864
13 111 Syria 2,578
14 114 Egypt 2,450
15 118 Iraq 2,107
16 - Palestine -
17 126 Sudan 1,397
18 127 Djibouti 1,304

Gaza is not Israel. Gaza is the launching point for attacks on Israel, it is no wonder that people live like shit there.

Because governments must obfuscate words in order to mask their true actions;

for exampple:

it’s taxation not theft;

it’s conscription not slavery;

it’s war not mass murder

it’s homeland defense not terrorism.

You get it?

Why?

Washington is the launching point of attacks on lots of places, and people do quite well there?

Also, you claimed that Arabs in Israel have it splendid, well, if your definition is “all Arabs in Israel who are doing well are doing well”, well, duh.

k, without wall of text copy-pastes, youtube etc.
what do you think is the solution to the arab-israeli conflict ?

I was really tempted to insert “final” before “solution” but decided not too for fear of having to scroll through a dozen of images again.

GDP Westbank: 2900$ per capita.

Hey at least they beat Djibouti and Yemen, right.

Well, we have Arab leaders who stay in power by playing this conflict, we have Israelian leaders who stay in power by playing this conflict, we have people calling everyone a Nazi who calls Israelis out on their bullshit and some of these people have a very strong lobby in Europe and the US.

I think they will all kill each other.

Maybe we could settle some Scandinavians there afterwards?
