Glad we agree.

Your avatar is seriously badass. The only way he would step down is if they got close to him. They would physically need to get near him, kinda like what happened with the Shah. Good for the people of Egypt.
Yeah, I’m not sure if anyone’s been following the past 12 hours, but he and his family have fled Cairo/Egypt (I’m trying to double check, but I just got a text from an Egyptian friend).
But really, the crucial period starts NOW.

So whats the next step? Ive heard that the army will be taking over for a short term. Do they have some type of election or is there someone that is setup to take control?

We don’t need another hostile country over there. Obama (or whoever pulls his puppet strings) should tell the Army Generals to get off their asses and take over.

No I mean their own army. The Egyptian army. But yes I agree; although I doubt that will happen.
So now theres a void in Egypt guess whats gonna happen? ANOTHER DICTATOR SHIP YAY! I find it hard to believe that this doesn’t eventually lead to another dictator ship, its basically the status quo in that region and a hard habit to kick.
Also if a “Democracy” does happen I wonder if the issue of women being second class citizen would be addressed? I know its not as bad as in Egypt as it is in other parts of the middle but its still their.

Wonderful way to boost American credibility with Egyptians (one of our only Arab allies; also “at peace” with Israel) and others in the region. Why aren’t you in Washington?
America does NOT belong there. And the youth are the majority there. If women’s rights is such a big issue, I am sure they will be vocal about it on their own. If human rights is really the reason America should “invade,” there are plenty of options on the table.
Read the first 2 pages then skipped to here, am i the only T-Nationer who lives in Egypt?

Ye i used to live in England, Egypt isn’t on the list of countries… cocky git
Prior foreign policy dictated that the arab peoples were insignificant in the relations between the US and arab countries. This was largely similar to our Latin American doctrine, which we have “allies” of dictators, murderers, barons, you name it. However we will use the same pretext of nomenclature for disposing of someone we do not like. Saddam Hussein happened to fit both roles for us at various times. What a useful guy. So did Iran, though we werent too fond of their democratically elected leader.
Now we fight 2 wars against “terror”, largely a result of the aformentioned foreign policy, and supporting “democracy”. Hmm, these current events are a fucking gift if someone wanted to “support democracy”, yet the line taken by the president and secretary of state is laughable and hypocritical.
Good for the people of the middle east in deciding they do not want to be treated as serfs any longer. A democracy is something that takes work to keep, so whether that will sustain itself is questionable. We sure like that king of Bahrain for our naval base dont we? Nothing like good ole democracy in saudi arabia. Give me a fucking break, this global hegemonic push has played itself out and we better realize that.
I wonder how long before our Rome sees a fate similar to this.
I hope I’ll be young and strong when it does happen - I very well expect to see it in my life.
