Don't Cross the 'Left', Cosby

Mufasa,

Yeah, because it isn’t like Obama and company ever use Chicago style politics to have their own way…Naw we are just soooo over reacting.

Thanks for setting us straight Mufasa.
Save your platitudes, Zeb.

The question for me is still there…

And that’s how all of this is “Left”/“Right” issue.

Apparently this all came about because a third rate (young black) comedian called out Cosby. He didn’t like Cosby lecturing young black men about pulling up their pants and taking responsibility for their lives when in fact he (Cosby) was a rapist.

Assuming the young black comedian is a liberal (not a huge stretch) then yeah the left nailed Cosby to the wall. We could take a step farther if you like conspiracy theories, but we don’t really have to do we?

There is a major clash in philosophies going on if you have not noticed. When GW Bush was President the left hated him so much that there was a constant drum beat against him in all the leftist institutions. Conversely, the same thing happened with Obama in the major right wing strongholds. In fact, I don’t think the country has been this split since the Civil War.

Therefore…everything seems to be political. Certainly this is far more prevalent now than 30 years ago, or made to seem that way by those involved in politics.

Do you see my point Mufasa?

I see that point and it’s been my contention for a while. The US is so polarized at this point its almost impossible to have any discourse, civil or otherwise. It is also nearly (I cling to hope) impossible for a candidate to win the primaries on either side as a moderate D or R. Unless something changes we’ll continue to have government showdowns/shutdowns and civil unrest.

I generally dislike the feminist movement but my god some people refusing to accept this man drugged and raped lots of women are giving them ammunition. The response to this in some cases are as bad as the people claiming the people coming out against Jimmy Savile are just looking for money.

Turning this into a left right issue is incredible.

That’s the rub here. Here’s what I’m thinking happened:

These ladies were dropping their panties for Cosby either way.
He offered them some ludes.
People like to get high, so they willingly ate the shit out of them.
The Cosby proceeded to do what frat boys across the country do every Thursday through Sunday…

Do I think Cosby had to force them to get fucked up on ludes? Not in your wildest dreams. Do I think he might have crossed a moral line or twenty? Probably, yeah, it seems like he did. But that is for a court to decide, not me without knowledge of the facts. But I highly doubt he FORCED these girls to get fucked up on drugs, I’d bet it was a willingly party scene.
But this is basically saying celebrities don’t rape because they can get tonnes of pussy so why would they, this is to ignore that celebrities can and do rape and that for sexual predators, many of whom get off on the domination and degradation aspect of rape, don’t want the sex to be consensual.

Add to that the fact that the Cos has been known for decades within the stand up comedy scene, to be a rapist and has done many date rape jokes in his act, tv shows and interviews, seems to be pointing to the fact he is very very likely guilty.

Obviously we can’t start sending people to prison without evidence and for most of his alleged crimes he is clear of any chance of conviction because of SOL, but this idea that someone is innocent of rape if there is no evidence isn’t very realistic because rape is almost impossible to prove.

That isn’t at all what I said. In fact I said the opposite.

I said, that while I’m pretty sure these women willingly took the drugs he offered, that he yes, did immoral shit to them once they were fucked up. Whether or not they consented to the sex prior to being wasted is largely irrelevant to this specific situation, because it seems that these women (it isn’t just one here) feel that lines were crossed.

All I’m saying is the girls more likely than not were willing to party on the drugs. But it seems as though Jello Man figured he’d do some dirty shit once they were too fucked up to make rational choices.

Not defending Cosby, but we are still innocent until proven guilty in this country. Except in California of course…

Ha ha you called him “Jello Man”

I remember those TV spots.

Betting he won’t be hired back to do anymore…

Setting aside what Cosby did or did not do for just a moment…

Maybe I don’t know enough about what happened, but does it not seem a little disturbing to anyone that a judge can decide to unseal sealed records just because he happens to disagree with what someone is saying 10 years or however many years down the road?

I can only assume he was within his legal jurisdiction to do so, but it sure does seem creepy to me.
