You seem unfamiliar with the violence of nature, where most animals are being eaten before they are even dead.
I’m not saying there are not problems with our current system, just not enough for us to remove ourselves from the food chain. As I see it the problem is not that we kill things, but that we have others do it for us, thus disassociating ourselves from where our food originates.[/quote]
I don’t think it is possible to remove ourselves from the food chain.
There are people who thinks plants have feelings…so what would we eat if we applied that logic?
Tofu?
That doesn’t look delicious or mouthwatering…and it doesn’t look like it will make my muscles bigger either.
Either way, my dog walked up to me this morning and said, "X…I know, I know…shocking that a dog can talk, but I just wanted to lay something out for you before going back to trying to smell your crotch and licking my own ass.
I luv you, dawg…like way more than those ribs from Pappa’s Barbecue. Just had to get that out".
And then he didn’t say another word.
He just licked his ass and smiled.
you just made me crave feta cheese…

I feel you X. Dog brains just raise so many questions. I could list them all but I think this video explores the deep philosophical aspects of this discussion better than any of us could. I don’t know why I had never considered the Christian intuition aspect of our relationship with dogs before. But this has really got me thinking about it now.

I wonder if I could have sex with that woman.
Like, with an erection and everything…

I agree with her…if they don’t have brains…what are they doing on this planet???

From where I am sitting, (looking down into her cleavage)I have this strange sensation of sitting just outside the event horizon of a black hole. AI think any closer and I would be sucked in.
I"ve had people say stupid shit like that to me about my dogs before…they only love people because they give them food etc.
It’s inane. We only love our parents because they’re the only ones we have. See? It’s stupid to say stuff like that.

She might be a little thick, but she carries it well for a white girl. I hadn’t really considered her intellectual stature, but now that you draw my attention to it. I see your point.

She certainly has put every braincell to the task of not looking obese, which she is.
So maybe a genius after all?

LOL I didn’t notice those posts but a few years ago a friend was telling me about his Malamute dog. He said Malamutes are completely untrainable, they just do what they are gonna do and there’s nothing you can do about it. I thought to my self “Oh my god, that’s just like my wife!” So now I have something to chuckle about anytime my wife is being stubbornly irrational.

I just turned to my 3 year old daughter and asked her “Do dog’s have brains?” She responded yes and her body language responded “Of course they have brains, is this some kind of trick question?”. Unfortunately it’s not very reassuring to know my three year old is smarter than that blond ditz who I happen to think was dead serious.

The truth is, Stockholm syndrome in theory requires self awareness and the presence of an ego…because the rationalization is the ego defending itself by identifying with the aggressor. Freud believed it required higher thought. The threat is decreased when the victim believes in the same goals as the aggressor.
I guess they can love then, huh?

To answer her very rational and intelligent questions :
No, it CANNOT be scientifically proven that dogs have brains, so just leave it alone
Yes, dogs are aliens from another planet … And it’s a shame that the alien dog that “ripped your face off” at age 2 didn’t finish the job

I never said they couldn’t. But if we are going to assume they have emotions similar to ours, it is also then plausible to assume their love for us isn’t rooted in some fantastical altruism, but rather brainwashing.

Yes, that was exactly my point. Love is sensationalized enough in people, but it’s even worse in dogs. They are awesome, though.

As this thread has reached critical mass and failed to sustain I would like to delve into Heavytriple’s comment, “love is sensationalized.”
I consider myself a cynical SOB but this comment strikes even me as warped.

Obese is a bit harsh don’t you think. Besides what is wrong with showing some love for a thick girl? I’ve certainly done worse. Which is part of the reason why I don’t drink anymore. But back to my original point, she has a certain sexiness about her, kind of a May West make the most of what you got. What’s not to love about that? Even if her brain cells aren’t networking very well.

Nevermind -I just posted on a thread where an analogy was drawn between women and high performance cars.
