Does This Ever Happen to You?

Let me ask 2 questions

  1. when you are reading do the words sometimes seem to move and come together? IE does the sentence seem to collapse upon itself?

  2. Do you wear glasses?

I ask because in the 8th grade, after being tested every year they discovered I had an issue with my eyes, almost like dyslexia yet not it’s very hard to diagnose and only after going to a specialist did they experiment and give me bi-focals to keep my eyes focused when reading and also for seeing long distances. After a few years I grew out of my need for bi-focals and only use my glasses for distance now.

I think everyone experiences this to some extent. It is called reading something you don’t really want to read but feel like you have to.

I doubt it is ADD; I don’t know if I even believe that there is a thing called ADD. I was diagnosed with this as a kid; they put me on meds and trust me the meds fuck you up way worse. I found that through determination alone I have been able to beat the problem. I think that if there is a thing called ADD, the actual cases are few and far between. I have known a number of people who claimed to have this problem and I have always discovered that surprise, surprise they also happened to be weak willed and incapable of working hard for anything.

There was an interesting article on here some time ago; study relating elevated test levels with ADD like symptoms and I would think that a number of us around here suffer from this kind of thing. For example, my math prof. is rambling on about some dual space crap while I sit there pondering upon what I would do if I ever had to say square off with a bear in the wild. I am hoping I had prepared some spears in the days beforehand…
