I hope this thread does not further spread the above myth among impressionable readers who might take it as a serious alternative to current scientific knowledge, as it had happened regarding evolution, global warming, sexual behaviour etc.
Unfortunately, we’ve all seen this happen too many times in this forum and I dread the “discussion” coming up. I understand that there is no way to “win” an argument on the internet, so I’ll stay out of it.
Just one thing, everyone should take from this:
The evidence that HIV causes AIDS is overwhelming, and everyone who is sexually active should practice safer sex (which may even, but does not necessarily have to, include abstinence) to avoid HIV infection! Although AIDS can to a certain extent be treated and controlled, it is a horrific and deadly disease to live with and to die of.
