I am an indecisive mess over starting trt. I honestly have no clue what I’m going to do. My levels with my current shbg thrown into the equation are super low but the thought of doing this for life is starting to weigh on me.
I’m far from an expert but if I was in your situation, I would definitely wait and try some other things first. Between T, AI and HCG, you are going to be introducing a LOT of stuff into your body. T and HCG are serious business and AI is super serious business.
It’s not a joke and it’s not necessarily fun or an easy ride. Try some other things. Read up and inform yourself on what you can do to boost T and free T naturally. If your Total T was a lot less (I started because I was 170 and not far from your age), that would be a different story.
Exogenous T may after all be the answer for you, but you definitely have a little time before you hop on the raceway and start this drive. Don’t make yourself crazy. You are not in dire straits.
The good thing is you have choices. There are guys younger than you at 300 Total T fumbling around terribly depressed and anxious with no sex drive and utter malaise, and they can’t get a script.
I dont get the big deal. Everyone with the “fot life”. Do You stress over having to eat for the rest of your life? How about showers and haircuts. Brushing your teeth or going to the bathroom. Coffee? Every one of those things are more time consuming than TRT. Most guys dont have issues like what you see here. Alot of people cruise into it problem free like me. I felt like death then i felt good. Dose raised a bit then i felt even better. Just do it and stop worrying, if it becomes an issue and bothers you that much you can always stop and go back to feeling like garbage for the rest of your life.
Well I took the plunge. Got home from work and again felt lethargic and unmotivated. I took my first shot around 6pm last night. I did my first dose of 80mg. I did not do the hcg yet and am holding off on the AI.
Slept very well and woke up at 3 with insane morning wood… have not had it like this in years. Don’t know if it was a coincidence?
Literally my only concern about test therapy now is hair loss. I am turning 39 and have no signs of male pattern baldness. Is hairloss something that is inevitable? My head is not built for doing the bald shaving thing! Lol
Dud to be honest, with 600 total T and 18 you do not seem to need TRT.
I mean your T is not great for sure, but looks like your are exhausting your body too much.
I would first start a hormon-friendly diet and training regimen, good sleep and checking micro nutrient defficiencies… Your trainings are too heavy for a guy not taking steroids.
Im surprised this doctor prescribed you TRT, the local dickheads here wouldn’t do it for 300 and something.
If your are feeling unwell you need also to check the thyroid.
An when you start TRT you start test only, then can add HCG for fertility reasons. And never start with a fucking AI. Who prescribed that? With this AI you are gonna get fucked.
WTF man hair loss? If you feel well and radiate strong hormones the chicks will love you no matter how fucking bald you are.
Just I think you should have tried naturally first to optimize things. I mean if you are running after so much training and performance maybe you cannot because you are abusing your body. In that case test is necessary.
You can research about the test cremes once you are dialed in.
Hair loss is genetic, but TRT can accelerate the process. Your hair serves no purpose other than cosmetics, in my opinion what good is hair if your confidence is rock bottom and feel like you’ve been run over by a truck?
Vonko, I have an AI and was told not to use it unless needed. The hcg was prescribed to keep fertility and testicles from shrinking.
Hair loss comes from the Mother’s side of the family. Does your mother have any brothers? They would be the best indicator of whether or not your going to have trouble.
I think that is an old wives tale. My mom’s family all have a full head of hair including my 83 yo grandpa. I have been going bald since I was about 25 about the same age as my dad started. His dad was bald also.
I wondered about that saying too. My moms side all have full heads of hair. Dads side they start receding mid 30’s. Mine started receding as well
Correct, my brother became bald before 30 and my father and I are not bald, my father is 87 years old and I am 47. Then again maybe my mother had an affair with the mailman while my dad was away on business.
Confession - I skimmed.
I’m on TRT and my trough is 650. I think it’s free t that is your problem, and probably caused by the SHBG, but I’m not good with that shit.
Avoid the AI unless your E2 is elevated - don’t just take it as a prophylactic.
My maternal grandfather had a hairline like Monty burns from the simpsons by the time he was 40… until he passed at 100. So male pattern baldness runs on her side. My dad’s side which is Italian has super thick hair. He has 4 brothers and they all pretty much had Afros into their 40s. I have this type of hair I get it cut once a week a skin fade and a number 3 on top and if I let it go two-three weeks it drives me insane. I am pretty gray but rarely do I find a hair on my pillow and there are very few in the comb I use.
All of my cousins are bald on my Dad’s side. I have a full head of hair. One brother has a full head, one is thinning - but he has a 30 year history of drug abuse. Seems to hold true with my relatives.
Week 1 is just about over. What I’ve experienced so far. Insane hunger… prior to starting my shots I had A decent appetite but this week it’s been crazy. I will eat a decent meal and in a few hours feel like I didn’t eat in days. Light headed, Moody, stomach pains… then I eat and it goes away. Is this common? Also my body temp seems higher. While at a meeting yesterday I said holy Christ it’s hot and it really wasn’t. This morning on my way Into work felt a great sense of well being… again couldn’t be a placebo.
Drop the HCG and the AI.
Don’t concern yourself with your SHBG. If your SHBG is high and tying up all your T you simply increase the dose to overcome it. Increase until symptoms resolve. It’s that simple.
Bossa, not using the hcg or AI at the moment. Only test this week
I run hot like I’m 16 again. Constant sweat, but to be fair I’m in a hot climate right now and wold be hot anyway. But yeah, I feel you. I am going with it being the increased metabolism. And broken records shouldn’t be played.
