Plenty of reasons to never support Bernie Sanders for POTUS:
He considers himself a feminist.
He’s pro abortion.
Opposes defunding of Planned Parenthood.
Opposes the death penalty.
Supports the Black Lives Matter criminals.
He wants to reduce military spending.
Wants to raise federal taxes to 56%.
Yeah…
As unappealing as Sanders is, a huge amount of what he raised was from small contributors - 135MM$.
That is disconcerting, to think these nimrods are so numerous.
Well, it actually makes sense if you think of the typical millennial. And to be fair way back in 1972 the democrats offered up their second most liberal candidate (Obama being the most liberal) George McGovern. And he had a gigantic following of college students and those under 30 years of age… I have no idea without research if they contributed as much to his campaign as these knit wits did for Bernie but he was huge with the younger set…plenty of Hippies.
It’s interesting to note that McGovern was destroyed by Nixon in the general election. One of the biggest landslides in Presidential history both electorally and the popular vote. He only garnered something like 17 electoral votes. I honestly don’t think Bernie would have done as well as Hillary in the general either. The country is still slightly right center in most of their beliefs. There is only so much room for left wing fools in a Presidential election. Obama won on his charisma, good looks and race.

I said this a long time ago about Sanders…for the life of me I just did not understand the appeal.
Also…“Free-Free/Spend-Spend/Tax-Tax” just had no appeal for me.

If you’re trusting the same polling that predicted a Hillary victory to guide you, you are misinformed. The polling process, as it stands, is dead. It is not an accurate predictor of the pulse of the nation.
If the numbers tell you that an overwelming number of people support these supposed progressive policies, yet even at the state and local levels the people who represent these policies got shellacked. Again at every level from Congress to city council members; it’s not just establishment democrats who are the problem, it’s the policies “progressives” support. We don’t want to be like Venezuela or Cuba or Sweden. We despise “Identity Politics”, we despise weak leadership in the face of grave threats.
And we have to believe that America is exceptional. If we don’t who will? That doesn’t mean we think we are better just that our country is exceptional.
Or in the spirit of Churchhill, we are the worst country in the world except for every other country… If you want the ‘glass half empty’ view.
That’s because you are an intelligent, well informed person who thinks for themselves… Nobody with a brain thinks that stuff is a good idea. All you have to do is look around every where it’s been tried to see it doesn’t work.
Yeah, the whole 90% tax thing has a dull luster.
Only 5 states have a Democratic governor and Democratic state legislature, which means 90% of states don’t agree with that vision.
Dems should have dumped Pelosi when they had the chance, they should make a spirited effort to primary her as soon as possible. It will be labeled as being sexist, but Dems can’t get back in the game unless they field a decent team. She should have been a part of the colon cleansing that removed Boxer and Harry Reid.
I am glad they kept her. We need her ineffective leadership on the left to keep them out of the way of badly needed policy reform. Once the country is on firm footing once again, they can make their power play.
I am not against all liberal ideals, but the big ones that our currently strangling our country need to be reined in. Like healthcare, immigration, terrorism and the PC obscurantism that prevents us from dealing with threats internally and externally, etc.
The problem with the left is their strategy wasn’t ‘let’s work for the country’ it was ‘let’s silence the opposition’. It worked. The opposition was silent until election day.
For some reason they cannot figure out that a leadership that runs 70 years old, is not the voice of the future. And when that old leadership has done nothing but lose ground for that last 8 years. That is the people, as a whole agreeing with what I just said. But these fools really believe that California and New York City are heart of the nation, instead of the real outliers. Yes they own the press, they own most of our nation largest most depressed cities and they own the universities. But they almost do not exist anywhere else. Most progressive ideas come across as a joke to most of the nation. Fighting over men being able to go into a woman’s bathroom . And surgically altering men into woman in the military. Is this a sick comedy routine? Next you are going to say that 5 year old boys should be getting hormonal treatments in order to keep them from turning into men. Just in case they might want to be a woman when they grow up. Sick comedy right? no one is serious about such child abuse are they? \The next thing you are going to tell me, is that the police are systematically trying to exterminate black men.
The heads of the democratic party are literally diseased in their thinking. They suffer from s.pelosi. delirium.
I just can’t understand how she ever came up as an influential figure. I’ve never heard her say one single thing that wasn’t either completely senseless, total bullshit, or both. That and her trademark ghastly expressionless shark like face. I just can’t look at her without thinking of that same dead look that a great white has as it mauls its way through a chunk of flesh.

Liberal cities all have a super liberal congressional district in them. In Seattle we had Jim McDermott in the 7th. No more brain dead useless politico in all the congress. His district not so oddly is also mostly water.

I’m really surprised as the outlook for 2018 doesn’t look good for Democrats. 33 Senate seats up for grabs, 25 of them held by Democrats. In those 25 seats, 10 are in states Trump won.
And right now they honestly seem to think they need to double down on what has not been working for the last 8 years. Do they think their message is not getting out despite owning the mainstream press, the entertainment industry and the education establishment?
Your message got out and is being rejected. You need new leadership. They are relying on a demographic shift that while it might kill the Republicans 10 years from now (or longer), it will also take them out. A Congressmen Garcia is not going to be the same politcaly as Nancy Pelosi
