You need to consider Socialist Security to be a tax, and do not plan your life around the idea of ever receiving any of it. If you do get your money back, consider it icing on the cake.
The only ways to fix it is eliminate it, drastically cut it, or privatize it. I am for the latter of course, as the only viable solution that does not fuck over everyone. Any other solution you hear is nothing more then a financial shell game.
Seriously I would give up every cent of Social Security I have earned up to now just to switch over to a privatized version. I have that much faith in it.
