Really you see a snake that is going to attack them? That’s not what I saw at all.

I thought he was just waiting his turn.

he’s a funny bastard who’s great at his job and works very very hard at it … genius is a stretch (don’t mean to pick on you but it gets under my skin when people throw “genius” around … it’s a very serious word with implication far beyond anything Louis C.K. has ever done)

Thanks for that training video. I have a few plateaus I’m trying to break through, and I’m thinking drop-sets of “clap bursts” followed by “travel hands” might be just the ticket!

3 words: DOUBLE DREAM HANDS !!! (@ 1:03)

When you can’t get that last rep, just stop, do Double Dream Hands, then get that rep!!!

Then, Shimmy High, brother… Shimmy High.

Hey man I’m only an intermediate lifter at best - you can’t just jump into DOUBLE DREAM HANDS casually - that’s a recipe for some serious finger tendonitis! Might start with the Surrender-Shrug-Plie complex and see where I go from there.

On a different note, doesn’t this guy kind of look like a gay, estranged brother of TC Luoma? Could just picture them growing up - TC preoccupying himself with lifting, sports and trying to pick up chicks, while that guy was preoccupying himself with…well…whatever the fuck he’s doing in that video.

Something that helped me was adding in some dynamic effort sets. I work up to the gray Elite bands for 8 sets of 3 travel hands and clap bursts. DO NOT do them in the same session though. I got serious CNS fatigue from doing that.

Good luck and keep training hard brother.

You’re insane for even trying that!!! Knew a guy once who had serious NCAA varsity Jazz Hand potential (I’m talking future All-American here) who tried the travel hand/clap burst complex you mentioned - long story short, he tore his adductor policis brevis muscle and lost his scholarship. Damned shame - coach said he had the most flamboyant stage presence he had ever seen in his 30 year career. Nowadays he mostly kicks cans down the train tracks, gazes at arbitrary fixed points in the distance, and cries at the thought of what he might have become had he not overdone it in jazz hand practice that fateful day…

That’s tough man. People like that who are blessed with the genetics for jazz dance sometimes think they can do anything and just push too far. It’s not a sport for the timid.
