Damn Clothing

First off let me say that I am all for clothing, I don’t want to see a whole bunch of naked people running around all the time, especially with the physical state of people nowadays.

But I was buying a shirt today, and as I am paying I notice a shirt in the kids section, and it had this to say.

         Just say no
         To gym class

I flipped out, and started talking quite loudly about how that shirt was exactly the opposite of what we should want for our kids. I started talking about fat, lazy people and I am pretty sure I offended a few people, but I don’t really care.

I just thought that a few of you might be annoyed by a shirt like that as well.

I dont get it… I was a FAT kid, and I still loved gym. I went through being made fun of for being fat, smelling bad the rest of the day cuz we didnt have showers, etc… And I still loved gym. Red rover, army-navy, basketball, kickball (I LOVED KICKBALL), etc. Even being a fat little bastard I still had the record for situps in 1 minute. And with a broken leg at the time.

I feel sorru for kids these days. What the hell else is there? you could be listening to annoying class, or you could be getting pelted with a rubber ball. Its an easy choice for me…

I saw the same shirt the other day hanging in a store window at the mall…my wife had to listen to me rant for the next ten minutes!

It’s bad enough that some jackass is trying to make money with such a terrible message - but it will really be sad when I see that fat boy with boobs or that anorexic little beanpole of a girl wearing this when they go back to school…

Does the back read “say yes to math class”? What kid hates gym that much? Hell, where’s “Say no to lunch” and “say no to summer vacation”? Is it cool to avoid physical activity? S’hit, I didn’t think I had been out of school that long. Maybe they would rather be taking a final exam or listening to a lecture on sex organs. Of all classes that I tried to avoid, gym wasn’t one of them. I mean, the girls got undressed and put on shorts and tight workout shirts. This was the defining moment of puberty.
