Cycling AAS Is Only Renting Muscle - False

Through the years of usage, word spread as to generalities around all of those. We all have seen too many examples to believe one size fits all. There is much difference from one individual to another. The best science is not foolproof for all individuals. That obviously includes bro-science. (as a side: I didn’t know anyone who encountered any real problems using steroids. Though that doesn’t mean no one had problems. I pretty much only discussed steroids with the most serious gym rats, that looked like they lifted weights. So there’s that: small sample size.)

I felt enanthate aromatized easier on me than cypionate, I sought out cypionate. I knew about half-lives long before I took any steroids. I never knew the accurate half-life of any steroid I took, but I approached all cycles with half-life in mind. We used some Nolvadex during cycles and after if we got gyno. I didn’t know anyone who mentioned getting a blood test. I never did until I acquired dermatamyositis (age 48, and that was the ended my competition use of steroids.)

Surprising, I have and a lot of them.

Also odd to say… I’m assuming you are speaking of Test in which that doesn’t really matter. Aromatizing between two long ester forms of test doesn’t really need discussion or consideration. I was referring to different compounds ie Test, dbol etc aromatizes. Tren does not. Mast and Primo are DHTs both acting as antagonists.

Regardless of the scientific “fact” I respond to feedback. That is all I had. The two times I got the worst gyno was on 200mg/wk of testosterone enanthate. Sure I was taking other steroids on the cycle, but I had done them before with cypionate.

Because of the legality problems, many times I took what was available and used as best I knew.

What do you know that would have been applicable to me when I was competing? That is my point about pragmatic value.

I was referring to your questions yesterday:

Good question.

And I meant that in all seriousness. I often look back and ask what I would have done to be a little better. The only aspect that I can see is to have used higher doses, but I might not be alive now if I had taken that route. Maybe I would have cruised if I was aware of it as a reasonably safe approach, but I always hoped to reengage my natural hormones off cycle. (Because I did no blood tests, I will never know if that was successful.)

By all accounts you did a great job on multiple measurable fronts so be proud. Here’s to your health!

These never seemed to really catch on…

anyone want to share their success stories??

And there are no guarantees of tomorrow…
BTW, both of my parents lived into their mid 80’s. So, I am not there yet.

you made @readalot quite aware of that truth. Best wishes to beating their feat.

That question stimulates the concept of a valuable learning for me that gets reinforced dramatically the more time I spend on here :-).

I give free advice. At the gym I workout the trainers would rather I wouldn’t. Most of them are “certified” and it gives the trainee a belief they know what they are doing. And it is hard to believe how misguided their advise can be (sometimes).

After 3 decades of competing and 2 plus decades after and a mere skeleton of my former self, I believe it is my time to GIVE back. I occasionally offer unsolicited advice, usually to my peril. I tend to try to help the young lifters more so than the older. I suppose the biggest mistake the young make is trying their maximum way too frequently.

That’s out of Germany in 1976!

Getting in 500 mg per week in 20 mg suppositories is so convenient. Why didn’t it stick? Oh it probably did

Are you currently on trt?

Yes.
Testosterone cypionate 100mg every five days.
I blood test total testosterone a little over 500ng/dL in the trough (the morning before next injection at night)
I don’t recall the free testosterone numbers, but they are midrange.

Before starting TRT I tested total testosterone at 270ng/dL around 2004.

Interesting analogy. I quite like it.

I attained a similar amount to yourself. I started at 130lb however but otherwise the comparison is the same.

I would like to extend the analogy to non enhanced muscle too though. If you don’t use it, you lose it. You’re pawning your muscle then too
