I was just reading and I was wondering where you got the following data from:

“One thing people should keep in mind is that food has been shown to reduce absorption and thus bioavailability in healthy humans. Maximum blood concentrations were obviously lower because of this. So, R-ALA should be taken on an empty stomach. When I say empty stomach, I mean 45-60 minutes before a meal or 3-4 hours after a meal will suffice. If you don?t get those exact figures, it?s okay, just try to get as close as you can.”

Cy on that note, wouldn’t it be more adventageous to time your r-ala intake around your carb meals? Since it “tis the season” I’d imagine most people are limiting their carbs to during and post workout shakes and perhaps one additional meal one hour after their post workout shake. Assuming this eating schedule, wouldn’t taking all of your r-ala around this time be best??

Now you talk of decreased absorption reguarding taking r ala w/ food, but do you think that taking it with your post workout shakes would inhibit absorption as much as consuming it with solid food. I would assume that it wouldn’t but as I’m ignorant of the mechanism of the decreased absorption I must defer to you.

Also, you mentioned that the 1/2 life of r-ala taken PO is 0.21 hrs is this a misprint?? That calculates out to only 12.6 min, and if you took it on an empty stomach 45-60min before a meal it would effectively be out of your system (five 1/2 lives) buy the time you ate your meal unless the mechanism of action of r-ala is independent of the need for the presence of the active molecule in circulation, or the presence of peak conc of the molecule for the desired effect.

Again I am assuming all this, but I would like a clarification if you would be so kind. Thanks bro!!
